Explore Burana Tower and Konorchek Canyons on a Day Trip from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Summary: We had amazing guide Farukh, very knowledgeable and helpful. Hike wasn’t very difficult (but you need proper shoes, no sandals or flip-flops). Burana tower is impressive along with stone idols around it. We had two stops for food and it’s also was good. Long and memorable day.

Summary: I loved this so much! Faruk is a great guide. The canyon itself contains a pretty level hike, but it's also lengthy and contains a few pretty challenging rock obstacles. Faruk always made sure that my whole group was together and safe wherever we went. The tower is so interesting with all its historical detail, and the view from the Canyons toward the end was stunning and very worth it! Highly recommend!!

Summary: Faruk and Maxim were wonderful guides. They took care of us all day long like royalty. Snacks, cold water (refrigerated in the back), all the breaks we wanted, and lots of interesting info about the sites. The canyon was beautiful and the hike was great. It’s mostly flat with 5 “obstacles”—small climbs up rocks using ropes. Anyone with a decent level of fitness and a good attitude can do it :) We would totally recommend this tour!

Summary: I had the chance to take a day trip with Datka Travel. I was so lovely and our guide was knowledgable and friendly. I thought that it was also pretty decent value of money as well - book this tour if you don't have too long to spend in Bishkek!

Summary: The tour was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. Talagat is very flexible and responsive, he was able to arrange me the tour the night before. And our tour guide Eldar was absolutely a legend, tried everything so we could have everything we needed arranged in our way to the tour, gave advices and explained historical facts about the sites. He was very friendly and helpful, and knowledgeable about this sites.

Summary: Great trip to Konorchek canyon. We drove a couple of hours from Bishkek to the start of the trail and walked along a river bed for about an hour and a half before arriving to the canyon. Getting there involved climbing through a few tricky obstacles, but nothing that involves extra training and it was quite safe. Our guy gave us tips on how to.climb over natural barriers. The view at the end is spectacular. The canyons remind me of the badlands in western Canada. Burana Tower was also a very interesting relic from the Silk Route.

Summary: Kyrgyzstan is just amazing! Too many places to explore. Our tour guide Ali is one of the best tour guide we had. He’s just so helpful and accommodating to our requests. Will recommend Dakta Travel if you are looking for a great experience in Kyrgyzstan. Will definitely come back next year!

Summary: This was a fab tour. The canyon walk is a bit challenging but the views are worth it!! Anvar was very helpful and made it fun to navigate the challenges. He was very patient with us! He is knowledgable and always willing to answer any questions. He took us to a fab restaurant and a place for snacks in the day and the food was tasty and plentiful throughout the day. The car was comfortable and pick up was on time. Communication in the lead up to the tour was very good too. I would highly recommend this company.

Summary: Very good tour. The tour guide, Faruk, was really friendly and knowledgeable, and he shared a ton of interesting insights into life in Kyrgyzstan. He was also flexible with the pace of the hike, and the timing for some of the basics like food and restroom stops, and I think that made it a very comfortable day vs how many other tours (with different providers of course) can often feel over-produced. Also, the canyon itself was a good hike/walk, with nice views, and the entire stop for the tower was interesting and well worth it. I have some great photos and memories I'll be taking with me from the tour, thank you!
