First we went to the ranger station and learned that there are two separate parks in one. One is the state park and the other is the National Park. We went straight to see Lake Michigan. A nice beach there if you have time. Then we went to the trails where the huge sand dunes are. This is the State Park portion. I didn't do it but by son and husband did. Lots of sandy hills and a staircase that they said seemed a little dangerous. I sat and read my book in a beautiful spot.
