Koh Klang Half-Day Cycling Tour from Krabi

Summary: We had such a wonderful time on this family cycling tour. It was the perfect mix of beautiful countryside, local insights, and great company throughout the day. Summary: Had a lovely morning riding around and finding out lots of interesting things about Krabi. Saw some wildlife as well which was the highlight of the trip. The journey is very easy with lots of break so is suitable for everyone.

Summary: If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the "Krabi hot spot" Ao Nang and take a look at a part of the "real Krabi", this tour with guide Wut is the perfect choice. Wut is a very friendly, well-informed guide who knows how to interact with his "fellow travelers" and who knows how to convey the "country, people and customs of the locals" in a wonderful way. The bikes provided are in excellent technical condition, the tour runs on easy-to-ride paths (the island is car-free!) -- this easy-to-ride tour is therefore highly recommended (also easy for children to do!). For us, it was one of the highlights here in Krabi!

Summary: We can highly recommend the tour. Our 8-year-old son was also there. Since only our family was travelling with Wood, he spontaneously adapted the tour to our needs. Wood is very personable, speaks very good English and is very knowledgeable. It was very interesting to see how the locals live. The bike was a bit big for our son (132cm), but he was able to ride it.

Summary: Spent a fabulous morning on our bike ride to a fisherman’s island .. we accessed it via a long boat. The trip was really well organised .. bikes were great .. water and snacks provided We met with lots of locals in a very natural environment.. the cycle on the island was flat and relatively easy .. lots of stops on the journey.. Highly recommend we loved it !

Summary: The island is a relaxed and enjoyable place to cycle and Wut is a terrific guide, full of interesting insights into life there. There are no cars on the island and the small roads and paths you take let you see a lot of daily life. You stop frequently in the first half or two thirds of the tour, to look at things and learn a bit about them. If it's at a craft workshop, there's never any suggestion that you should buy something. They grow a special rice on the island and at the roadside food stall where we stopped for a snack towards the end of the tour I had possibly the best sticky rice parcel of my life - delicious! Summary: I went on a half-day Koh Klang Culture cycling tour. Transportation by van to the accommodation was convenient. The tour starts at the parking lot near the Krabi Town dock, where you can adjust your bicycle saddle, then cross to the island by ferry. It is not just a matter of cycling around the island, but also depends on the woodworks, batik workshops, etc. Unlike the bustling Ao Nang, you can feel a relaxing time. The guides were also full of hospitality and had a very fulfilling time. This is what Krabi must have looked like before it was turned into a tourist destination. The roads are mostly flat, and I think anyone who can ride a bike normally will be fine. This is definitely recommended if you have no problem communicating in English.

Summary: Many tours to choose from. My second was a nice easy half day cultural tour of estuary area close to Krabi town. Car free and complete flat. Highly recommend for beginners to cycling. Summary: Our chosen tour was the half day of Koh Klang, which is a small island opposite Krabi Town. Conveniently, there is a concrete path that runs the entire length of the island, so the brochure was bang on when it said it is an 'easy ride'. Don't let the distance put you off, it is as flat as flat can be. The bikes were well maintained and comfortable to ride, with a helmet, gloves, and water provided. Our guide was 'Wut' and his english was very good, very clear, and his local knowledge made what we were seeing all the more interesting. Having come from AoNang, it was a relief to remove ourselves from the overload of restaurants and souvenir shops for a while, and instead see a very relaxed, very beautiful, very interesting side of Krabi. A great cultural experience. I would say that this is a 'must do' activity in Krabi.

Summary: If you want to see parts of krabi with less of the tourist trail feel then Krabi eco cycle is ideal. Wut, the tour guide and owner is a friendly guy with plenty of knowledge of the area. Wut tells us he takes groups of up to 10 but there was only 2 of us and he was still happy to go. We did the full day tour which is probably half cycling and half seeing the sights. The bikes are good quality and comfortable (we had a Trek and a Merida) and the riding is pretty easy going mostly on road or dirt road. The roads are really quiet so traffic wasn't an issue. The benefit of going with Krabi eco cycle is you can avoid most of the tourist buses and get to enjoy the destinations that little bit more. Plus by cycling between destinations you slow down and see the scenery around you, the people living or the kids at the schools who happily wave at you as you ride past. Wut sorts out food and drinks on the way and lunch was really tasty Thai! We would definitely recommend this tour especially if you want to see Thailand in a slightly different (not through the window) way.
