Your Private Full-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Hazyview, Mpumalanga

Summary: Wow, we are so happy to have secured a day's safari with Gerrie! It was a day that our family will never forget - Gerrie's comprehensive knowledge of the animals and park lead to a phenomenal experience. He went out of his way (quite literally) to show us as much as possible. We were so lucky to see a huge variety of animals and birds, including, but not limited to: Lions, Warthogs, a honey badger, giraffes, zebras, bushbucks, Kudu, buffalo, lots of impala and the crowning delight of a male leopard relaxing within 3 meters of the vehicle. The added bonus of Gerrie taking amazing photos as we went, and forwarding them the same evening just topped off the perfect experience. Thank you Gerrie!

Summary: What a day :-) Gerry picked us up as promised at exactly 5.00 a.m. Because of a concession he has we were in the park within 2 minutes of arriving at Phabeni gate. And importantly before nearly all the other operators. By 7.00 a.m. we had seen 3 lion, a Leopard just yards away and a distant Cheetah. Extraordinarily lucky but that what Bushcraft and contacts can make happen. Gerry was a fabulous guide. He knows the bush and he understands animal behaviours. So helpful in seeking out likely spots to observe the wildlife. Our day was very full. He also offered to take photos with his camera. He is good at it. The photos he then sent us are just wonderful. So much better than my wife or I could manage. It also left us free to look at everything without bother. A brilliant addition and no cost - all included. Loads of stories and anecdotes. An interesting man. We would not hesitate to recommend Gerry. If we come back to Hazyview he is our go to guide. You will not be disappointed.

He has stories from several experiences observing particular animals and shares insights into their behavior and the mysteries of natures adaptations! He is patient, kind, and is willing to share local insights if requested. A true gentleman of great respect for the Kruger National Park.

Summary: We were a group of six friends on a mission to soak up as much of Kruger as we could in one full-day safari. Choosing the private full-day trip with Kruger Getaway Safaris, turned out to be one of the best decisions of the whole holiday, and much of that was thanks to our guide, Henry. From the moment we hopped into the vehicle, Henry’s enthusiasm was infectious. He brought an energy and attentiveness that went far beyond “just doing his job.” Within the first hour he was pointing out birds, animals, tracks, tiny details that we’d have walked right past. But he didn’t just spot them. He told us fascinating “fan facts” about each one: behaviour, ecology, even little stories that made them come alive. As the day unfolded, Henry’s knowledge and patience shone. We asked tons of questions (he answered them all, always with a smile). He knew the land, places to stop, angles to view from, and steered us toward memorable sightings. Our group saw lion, rhino, leopard, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, countless antelope species, and a lot of birds. And often, Henry would spot the subtle, a tiny bird’s nest, a distant predator moving, tracks leading away. Logistically too, the trip was seamlessly handled: pickups, drop-offs, comfort along the route, complimentary water, rest breaks — all done with attention and care. The vehicle was comfortable, and Henry made sure everyone in the group got good views (no “front seats only” style). If you’re debating doing a private full-day safari in Kruger — just do it. And if you can ask for Henry, do that. He turned a great excursion into something unforgettable. I honestly can’t imagine a better safari guide.

Summary: We had an absolutely fantastic safari experience with Alec as our guide! From the moment we started, he was incredibly communicative, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wildlife. Throughout our two game days, Alec shared fascinating insights about the animals, their behaviors, and the ecosystem. we learned so much and gained a real appreciation for the beauty of nature. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, offering a cozy place to relax after exciting days in the bush. For our mid tier budget package, we really couldn’t complain with the experience we received. Meals were delicious and well-prepared, with variety to keep us satisfied and energized each day. Overall, everything was well organized and seamless — we couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience. Thank you, Alec, for making our safari truly memorable!

Summary: Oh, my, what a great day. Harry gave us a big day of all manner of animals in all kinds of settings. He really elevated the experience with his knowledge and enthusiasm. Experience matters and he knew the lay of the land in the park. Our favorite, late in the day, was the watering hole chock full of rhinos and assorted other animals. A hearty recommendation of this experience and of Harry, the guide.

Even a rare chance to see a family of cheetahs that Gerrie had seen since they first came to the park - his personal connection with Kruger was evident and made the experience all the more special

Summary: Family of 4 adults. Always trust Gerries gut and you won’t be disappointed! We saw so much! more than we imagined. everything from birds to the lioness! Elephants, giraffe, cheetah, rhinos. He strategically plans your whole day and will leaves you speechless. We had the best time and even an amazing goodbye with a heard of elephant and buffalo! 10/10!

We saw all that we could have hoped for and in between sightings Gerries facts and insights about the animals, plant life and history were super interesting. Beautiful 2 weeks in the park, can’t recommend this guy enough!
