Summary:
Beautiful view from the restaurant/tasting room. The wine for the tasting was very good and the pours were generous. The accompanying bread, cheese, and meat was a perfect mid-day meal.
We were first served an excellent sparkling wine, followed by the best Chardonnay I've ever had. We bought two bottles that we need to get back to the US. Unfortunately they do not ship directly from the winery.
The tannat and the red blend were good. We bought 1 of each (buy 3 bottles and the 4th is free). We also bought a bottle of olive oil produced by a nearby farm that the Vina Eden winery labels.
It was topped off by an interesting tour of the winery.
All in all a wonderful experience for our first full day in Uruguay and well worth the short drive through beautiful scenery from Punta del Este.
