Summary: We went without previous mountain experience and loved it, the views of the Osorno and its surroundings are amazing! The guides José Miguel, and Matias were very friendly and attentive, from the previous consultations by mail to finish the walk. We felt very comfortable and safe from moment one. I definitely recommend!

Summary: Responsive booking: because of my schedule and the weather forecast I contacted Huella Andina Saturday afternoon to inquire about a Monday booking for the Osorno glacier tour. Tight turnaround, so I had low expectations. But they answered my e mail within 10 minutes, and within 45 minutes had answered a couple gear questions and set the whole thing up. Part of this was luck, since they already had a trip booked and allowed me to join, but part was that they were on the ball and quickly answering e mails. Solid guiding: the guide (Matias) was pleasant and knowledgeable. He did a particularly good job of setting a sensible pace that kept us moving steadily, not too fast, but fast enough to get where we needed to be. I felt in good hands and relaxed. Great mountain experience. I have some mountaineering experience and if I had had more time would like to have booked a summit tour. But the shorter tour to the Osorno glacier really packed a big mountain experience into a small time window. We spent about an hour walking in crampons, a good part of that on the glacier (I couldn’t tell when we were on snow over glacier as opposed to snow over ground). When we turned around, it felt like we had come a long way up a big mountain. So obviously, the true mountaineer will want to book the summit tour, but if you can’t do that for whatever reason you will still get a big mountain experience with this shorter tour. Oh, and we descended via glissade — a total blast that alone justified the tour price and got us down in less than a fourth of the time it took to ascend.
