Outside is a shaded courtyard and there is second floor terrace for sunbathing or relaxing. Shops, restaurants and the beach are all within 5 minutes walk. Villino Simona is a typical townhouse in the Viareggio Liberty (Art Nouveau) style. The front door leads into a comfortable quiet sitting room with decorated ceilings. In front there is colourful stained glass entrance to the dining room, with an extendable table for mealtimes. For eating al fresco, there is a shaded courtyard next to the kitchen. The galley kitchen has cooker, fridge-freezer and dishwasher, while the washing machine is in the courtyard. Near the stairs is a small bathroom including a floor shower. An elegant staircase leads to the first floor. On the right there is a double bedroom and a corridor leading to a large bathroom with shower and bath tub. At the end of the corridor there are steps leading up to the sun terrace. On the left there are two twin bedrooms with wardrobes, and small balconies overlooking the street. There is a bathroom with a shower on the landing. On the next floor there are two spacious bedrooms, but with sloping ceilings, so more appropriate for younger visitors. The fourth bathroom with shower is between the two bedrooms. Airconditioning is available in all the bedrooms and on the ground floor . Guests at Villino Simona have access to the whole property. Interaction with Guests: We are happy to provide help and advice to guests. At the moment of check-in, you will be shown around the house and given useful information for your stay. House rules: Check-in between 1500 and 1800 Check-out is from 0800 to 1000 Guests are asked to respect other guests and neighbours rights to peace and quiet particularly during rest times. After booking Villino Simona we will send you a short contract with details of the accommodation and useful information for your stay. You damage deposit of 300 euros will be returned to you at check out, after we have seen that everything is as it should be. The Neighbourhood: Villino Simona is in a mostly residential area in the centre of Viareggio. It is about 200 metres from the seafront and “passeggiata” promenade with its chic clothes shops and boutiques. Here you can find excellent fish restaurants, which are typical of this seaside area. Viareggio is on the Versilia coast where you can sunbathe at well-equipped beach clubs and enjoy the nightlife after sundown. Viareggio has events all round the year, but particularly in summer when holidaymakers flock to the seaside. It is famous throughout Italy for its Carnival in February when gigantic mechanical floats move slowly along the promenade filled with admiring crowds. Around Viareggio: Torre del Lago Puccini is the lake-side location of the most important theatre in Tuscany for concerts and operas. The Puccini festival is held in July and August. Pietrasanta is certainly worth a visit for art lovers. It is famous for its sculptors who work the local white Carrara marble, beloved by Michelangelo. It has numerous art galleries and great seasonal art exhibitions. Forte dei Marmi is a popular tourist destination known throughout Italy for its designer boutiques, luxury hotels and gourmet restaurants. The walled city of Lucca with its narrow streets, numerous churches and museums is popular with visitors to Tuscany. Not forgetting of course the Pisa landmarks of the Leaning Tower and Piazza Miracoli. Getting around: Bikes can be rented from the numerous bike hire companies in Viareggio. There is paid parking along the street in front of the house, but daily and weekly permits are available (see house manual). The train station is 800 metres from Villino Simona and has direct trains to Pisa, Lucca and Florence, as well as Cinque Terre, Rome and Milan.
