It is an ideal home from which to walk directly from the doorstep, or for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and there is a pub with an excellent restaurant within ½ mile. For an alternative day out, explore the spa town of Harrogate, just 15 miles, which boasts a wealth of independent shops, pubs and restaurants and don’t forget to try afternoon tea at Bettys. York is a ¾ hour drive where there is a wealth of history with York Minster, The Jorvik Museum and the Railway Museum to name but a few of the sights. Alternatively explore Studeley Royal, a National Trust site, together with the amazing rock formations at Brimham Rocks. Shop 2 miles, pub/restaurant ½ mile.

Summary: Good points: property is well maintained, with good quality fixtures and fittings. Directions and instructions for key pad were good. Lots of space to spread out. Beds were very comfortable and the surroundings peaceful and beautiful. Negative points: Parking was somewhat confusing, it would help to have a diagram of which areas are for parking. Luckily we only had two vehicles, really not sure where the third would go. Both radiators in the living room got lukewarm at best, I think they needed bleeding. The instruction "manual" was out of date and missing quite a lot of information for example heating details. There was a letter out stating about a 9am check-out and 5pm check-in, which I'm not sure if was left from Covid as it contradicts the listing and booking confirmation. The listing also stated a starter pack of fuel for the fires would be left, but there was only a bit of kindling and the fire had not been cleared out. There were also insufficient glasses (particularly tumblers) in the kitchen, although ample crockery and cutlery. Overall though, this is a lovely property in a stunning area and we would happily stay again.
