Positive: A charming relaxed house in many ways. Garden & pool were excellent, even with poor weather. Hosts were helpful and relaxed and were quick to respond. Lots of outside and indoor games provided which was thoughtful. Nice family bathroom. Annexe bedroom suite was also very nice and spacious with a good bathroom. Kitchen although dated, was well equipped with crockery, pots & pans etc. Nice big family sized table with plenty of chairs.
Negative: Kitchen needs to be updated. Gas cooker was difficult and unpredictable to use. There is no easy access to the main garden, and it isn't visible from the house, so difficult with children, particularly as the pool isn't fenced off. The bedrooms are over 2 floors, with steep stairs to the attic rooms. These could do with a little updating. There are quite a lot of steps between rooms, which are tricky for young children/older people. The location is quiet, with the nearest village a few km away, which apart from the bakery, butcher & small supermarket, didn't have anything else like a cafe/bistro. We had to travel 30 minutes away for a bigger town with shops/restaurants. To be fair, we were aware of the location when we booked the property though. WiFi was poor but that was due to be improved.
Summary: Mixed, not as relaxing as we might have liked, but that was partially down to the bad weather.
