Pauwela Bed & Breakfast | A House of Healing for over 150 years!

1 Bedroom Bed & Breakfast in Pauwela, Haiku-Pauwela

This traditional Hawaiian plantation architectural style farm house built in 1870 is surrouned by an acre of agricultural land with gardens and a pond. The home is steeped in Maui's history, it was the original Doctor's home for the first plantation workers. It has been called a house of healing for over 150 years. We have two private suites each with their own exterior entrance for guest stays.
Lilikoi vines, ackee, noni, three varieties of avocado, a grapefruit, tahitian lime, cashew and mango trees grace the property as well as many banannas - you are welcome to any fruits that may be available during your stay. Ripe seasonal fruit can also be found on our honesty farm stand at the front of the property near the side walk before entering the long driveway. We have koi, crayfish and many frogs that live in and around the pond, watch your step in the evenings. The property is also home to a large family of wild and free range chickens, they can be quit lively in the early morning hours but its all part of the charm of living like a local on a rural Hawaiian plantation. The home has ample parking and is centrally located near beaches, a spa, restaurants, hiking trails and water falls. The home has large lanais and each suite has it's own mini refrigerator. Dishes, flatware, a toaster, electric kettle and french press are available upon request. We also offer laundry service for an extra fee, as well as a grocery delivery service. We are happy to pre-stock the mini fridge before your stay, just message us with your needs for this service. It's so relaxing you may not want to leave the property.
The base price is for one queen suite; generally, this is suitable for two guests. We also have a pack and play infant crib. As part of our sustainability plan we encourage guests to bring their own toiletries - we keep a supply of Dr. Bronner's soap and other basic toiletries in each room in case you forgot something. We also have a mini-van available for lease during your stay and we offer airport pick up and drop off service for an extra fee, if needed. We hope you will feel right at home in our Hawaiian retreat.
We will keep the porch light on and greet you when you arrive to provide the door access codes for your stay.
Jeremy is our "fixer", he lives on the property and is just a text away in case something needs to be repaired or anything comes up that requires immediate attention. He also helps maintain the gardens. We have two accessory building on the property - Jeremy's bungalow and a pottery studio that is currently home to a small homeschool pod three days per week. Those buildings are not available for use by our guests. Our housekeeper comes in between guest stays and leaves a large supply of fresh linenes, extra blankets and towels folded in each suite - additional beach towels, beach gear and yoga mats are available on the back porch - help yourself to whatever you need.
