Welcome to paradise! 20 gorgeous, peaceful acres with lots of happy, friendly animals for you to get to know. It will be an experience you will treasure for a lifetime. Leave the hustle and bustle of life behind and soak in the peace, tranquility and beauty of Rooterville Animal Sanctuary in your private, furnished home. There is plenty to do here or nearby. The butterfly garden with two beehives is a unique treat! You'll be surrounded by natural beauty with ponds and wildlife.
The space
You will have total privacy in our quaint, roomy farmhouse complete with every amenity EXCEPT a TV! It's time to reconnect with each other, your family, friends or whoever you are with. Slow down and enjoy farm life. You're welcome to pitch in and help with the chores if you like! This is your stay and we'll do whatever we can to make it AMAZING. The animals here will be the highlight of your visit, many free-roam and you can interact with them as much as you like. The sanctuary is yours to enjoy, a $15pp daily value.
We have everything you need here but food! You have a nice porch to grill outside or prepare your meals in your beautiful, spacious kitchen. You don't have to leave unless you want to. Keystone Heights is only 10mi away with lots of eating options available. We would appreciate it if you didn't use our kitchen or grill to prepare meat, out of respect for our mission. There are lots of restaurants nearby.
We're a nice drive under an hour to Gainesville, Jacksonville, St Augustine, High Springs, Ocala, Micanopy and more! So you won't get bored. The kids will love being with the animals. We have a great gift shop and play area for them too.
Y'all come, we can't wait to have you spend some time relaxing and refreshing in our little piece of heaven.
Bring a kite if you like and fly it in our roomy fields! We also have remote control boats you can rent for $25 per boat for 30 min. Board games are available, just ask!
Longer term rentals are welcome, we'll customize your stay to meet your needs. Best thing is that ALL proceeds from your amazing stay help us care for the animals you're going to fall in love with. Please be generous for them!
Guest access
You are welcome to go anywhere except in the pasture alone with the cows/horses. You are welcome to schedule a cow cuddle session with a staff member if you'd like to go in with them. You'll be able to interact with the animals to your heart's content. From weiner dogs to Tinsel the ginormous steer, there are plenty of new friends to be made here. Bring snacks for the animals if you like, there is a big fridge with ice maker. You can come and go as you please, just make sure to secure any gates behind you.
There is a lovely seating area under a tent near the kid's play area. Its a great place to enjoy the sunsets.
Other things to note
There are stairs that are a bit steep, the ones in back are half as high as the ones in front. There is a huge screened front porch with ceiling fans to sit out and enjoy the view of the sanctuary. Your water is softened and filtered so you can enjoy it from the tap and use it for cooking with no worry of bad taste or smell. Everything you need will be right here!
Firewood is available for a $15 donation. You'll get a fast start log and Fire Magic for a colorful display.
