The house that the small, newly created studio apartment is part of is located in the small municipality of Viganella, in the Alta Valle Antrona nature reserve.
The studio has a kitchen unit, a dining corner and a bathroom. The living and sleeping room has a double bed (140 x 190cm) and a bunk bed (90 x 190cm). The kitchen corner is equipped with two electric hotplates, an extractor fan and all the necessary cooking utensils, pans, espresso machine etc. In the bathroom there are a shower and a washbasin. The apartment has hot water and also underfloor heating on cold days. As the apartment is rather small, it can accommodate a maximum of two adults and up to two children.
There is a 19" TV with satellite receiver (all "Free-To-Air" stations from ASTRA and HOTBIRD) and you can also use our fast WLAN internet connection (10 Mbps down/1 Mbps up) for free.
You can share use of the terrace with the owner family, as well as of the large garden that is not fenced, which has garden furniture, deckchairs, a parasol, a campfire for grilling etc.
Pets should get on well with the two cats belonging to the owner family. As the apartment is in a nature reserve, dogs must be kept on the leash. On request and at a small supplementary cost, you can use the owners’ washing machine.
The house is lies amidst enchanting nature, surrounded by meadows and mountain forest, away from road traffic, in a small medieval mountain village with natural stone houses, at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level. The house is a two-minute walk from the car park.
Viganella has been little known up until now, which changed just last year owing to the building of the sun mirror, which reflects the sun on the church square of Viganella during the winter months and has drawn worldwide attention.
There is something to discover in every season: the big trampoline, grill evenings by the campfire, or open-air cinema under a starry sky will keep you entertained in summer. In the autumn you can go mushroom picking, searching for edible chestnuts and on hikes, while in winter several ski resorts can be accessed within 30 minutes. The spring is fascinating with its abundance of blossoming flowers and the journey through seasons from the peaks that are still snow-covered down to the Mediterranean and evergreen climate at Lago Maggiore.
Despite being of the beaten track, it is a good starting point for activities and trips. Apart from hiking, climbing, canyoning, bathing in a wild stream or in mountain lakes nearby, you can go on trips to the hot springs at Premia or Bognanco, to Lago Maggiore or Lago d’Orta, to the Valle Anzasca, Monte Rosa and so on.
