Holidays in a listed building combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a revitalised future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the ‘Ferien im Baudenkmal’ foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005.
Public transport: Take the Postbus, no. 232, from Klosters-Platz in the direction of ‘Monbiel-Parkplatz’. Get off at the ‘Bir Legi’ stop, then walk a few metres uphill to Monbielerstrasse 156, where you turn right between the house and the stable and follow the path to the house Im Boden.
By car: Drive from Klosters in the direction of Monbiel. Once in Monbiel, turn right before Monbielerstrasse 156 and follow the path between the house and the stable until you reach the marked car parks.
Car park: There are two car parks in front of the stable. In summer there is a third car park above.
Number of people 12: The house sleeps 12 (plus one child up to 2 years). 6 bedrooms, each with two single beds that can be converted into double beds. (Cot available on request).
Season: All year round
Short holidays: Possible in the low season (minimum three nights) and at Ascension and Whitsun.
Outdoor space: 2 verandas and 2 outdoor seating areas facing east and west.
Heating: Central heating radiators throughout the house (heat pump) and stoves (the stoves can only be used from summer 2024). All rooms are easy to heat.
Stove / fireplace: A parlour stove (tin stove) and a tiled stove in the kitchen. Currently under revision and available for use from summer 2024.

Pets: Pets are not allowed

Kitchen: Electric cooker with oven. Dishwasher available. Fondue and raclette sets available for 12 people. Nespresso coffee machine.
Bathrooms: 3 bathrooms with showers and toilets.
Washing machine and tumble dryer: Washing machine not available. Drying room, with Secomat and a ski boot dryer for 15 pairs of boots.
Extras: The floors are made of wood and stone, which is why we recommend good slippers. The WC facilities are only accessible via stairs, as are the bedrooms. The stairs are normally steep. It is forbidden to enter the stables, which are partially accessible but are a source of danger.
Important addition:
The Haus Im Boden is a historic house, a listed building. Although it is technically equipped to modern standards, we would like to point out that certain functional details such as window and door openers, stair handrails and step heights do not comply with current standards and could be a potential source of danger. The WC facilities are only accessible via stairs, as are the rooms on the 1st floor. The tenants are aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the Stiftung Ferien im Baudenkmal decline any liability.
