A new holiday resort called "OstseeResort Olpenitz" is being built on the site of a former naval base near Kappeln an der Schlei on an area of 86 hectares of land and 66 hectares of water and harbor, right on the Baltic Sea in Eckernförde Bay.
The harbor house apartment "BRIGANTINE 33" on the ground floor offers enough space for 2-5 people on almost 80 sqm, with a 26 sqm living, dining and kitchen area and terrace (17 sqm) with harbor views, 2 double bedrooms with high quality box spring beds and Schlei- and Baltic Sea view as well as a bathroom with shower, whirlpool and (infrared) sauna with LED color light therapy! The small dreamy village of Olpenitz nearby (3 km away) with its beautiful (thatched) houses offers restaurants and shopping opportunities as well as the well-known fishing village of Kappeln with a small harbor in about 7 km away.
The public “Weidefelder Strand” adjoins the Port Olpenitz area directly in the south, is free of visitor's tax, 3 km long and of good sand quality. There is also a small beach restaurant there. Cyclists come to the beach free of charge, motorists pay a comparatively low parking fee,
