3 Bedroom House in Ponoka County, Ferintosh
Let your adventure begin at Raspberry Castle. This three story tall tower has been hand constructed from bricks fired in Medicine Hat Alberta. John Jensen, a Danish engineer / bricklayer designed our wonderful castle with his family in the 70's. We've modernized and renovated the entire building to make it as comfortable as possible.
The castle has a basement relaxation area with bookshelves, couches, chairs; a perfect place for board games or quiet reading. The couch in the basement folds out into a standard bed if the additional sleeping space is needed.
On the first floor are three bedrooms, two containing queen beds, and one room containing bunk beds. This floor also has the bathroom complete with a stone shower!
The second floor has the beautiful dining area as well as a newly renovated kitchen with granite counter top. The kitchen is complete with oven, stove top, microwave, fridge, and sink with lots of counterspace available to accommodate any meals you want to make while enjoying your stay. And of course there's a coffee maker and electric kettle so you can enjoy a cup of hot coffee or tea in the morning while watching the birds and squirrels scurry throughout the evergreens.
Although the castle is heated via a gas furnace, guests are welcome to enjoy fires on in our second floor hearth.
Upstairs is the roof top patio featuring lovely views of the surrounding forest and Red Deer Lake. Also on the rooftop is another fireplace. The fire can get really hot which makes it possible to brave the cold winter days or nights for those who are willing to try.
If that wasn't enough places to have a fire, you're also welcome to use our beachfront fire pit. Sit inside a large stone wall that John Jensen constructed as well. We'd suggest during the summer to have a beachfront fire while watching the sun set and if you hurry up to the kitchen floor you can watch the sun set again!
We kindly ask you not to smoke on the upstairs patio or inside the castle.
