Casa Mayasota was built in 2016 is located in Mahahual, Mexico a few miles north of the village and the cruise port, Costa Maya. This beachfront home offers an oasis for all types of vacationers. Looking to sit by the pool and relax for hours? Or play volleyball and go kayaking out to the reef? No matter how you choose to spend your time at Casa Mayasota, the sunrises and sunsets will surely surpass your expectations. The ocean views can be enjoyed in a comfortable climate as the breeze coming off the ocean ensures those hot Mexico days don’t get too hot. Looking to explore? The home is located the perfect distance from town to ensure privacy, but not at the cost of your convenience. Grocery stores and restaurants are just a short 10 mile drive from the home. The town of Mahahual is a quiet, quaint beach town that offers numerous restaurants and local shopping while not being overrun by tourism. The charm and remoteness of this village is something you cannot find in Cancun or Playa del Carmen.
Beginning with your arrival at the Casa there are ocean views throughout. A large entryway with a custom tile design allows you to easily move your luggage and supplies inside. There is a wide stairway to the upper level, and a few steps down toward the ocean there is a grand living room, dining room and kitchen in the open floor plan with a wall of windows and sliding doors that look out to the beach. The living room has a semicircular built-in cushioned couch. The dining area has a locally made wooden table and chairs to comfortably seat your group. The kitchen has all top line appliances including a 5 burner gas cook top, oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, blender and toaster oven. There are granite countertops throughout including the breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully stocked with pans, dishes and utensils you need to cook and serve your group. Or you may drive to Mahahual where there are a variety of dining options. Bottled water is provided and is gravity fed through the refrigerator for cool drinks and ice making. High quality custom cabinetry is present throughout the kitchen/dining area and a large pantry is available to store your supplies.
From each of these areas there are sliding glass doors which provide access to the terrace with beach chairs, a patio table and chairs and a BBQ grill. To the left of the living room, there is access to an outdoor pool, which is partially shaded and partially in the sun. Picture yourself with a cold beverage sitting on a bench in the pool after snorkeling, kayaking or laying on the beach, looking over the ocean. The pool area also has a ½ bath.
There are two bedrooms on the ground level. One with a king size bed with ocean views and an ensuite bathroom. The other has two twin beds and is connected to a full bath, which is also accessible from the main living area. There are also two queen size blowup beds available.
From the entry a stairway leads to the upper level which has two master suites. Each suite has a king bed, ensuite bathroom and front and rear terraces for viewing the sunrise and sunset. Between the suites is a spacious palapa covered terrace with views of the ocean. The terrace has a cushioned seating area, bar, small refrigerator and a sink. Your group can relax enjoying the breeze after a fabulous day in the sun or coffee in the morning watching the sunrise.
The house is on the electrical grid and has a backup generator. Amenities and special features include Wi-Fi throughout, on site caretakers, housekeeping service, all linens are provided (bed, bath and beach), air conditioning in all bedrooms, ceiling fans and floor fans throughout, 2 kayaks, 2 bicycles, beach games and board games. Laundry service is available through the caretakers. The Villa's caretakers live in separate quarters on the property away from the house. They provide security and assistance to our guests.
The house was designed by a local architect known for his emphasis on flow and taking advantage of the oceanfront setting. The house is set up perfectly for a family or group of friends to enjoy their own private beach. The world renowned Mesoamerican reef, which is ½ mile off shore, is great for snorkeling or scuba diving. There are many other activities in the village of Mahahual and the nearby region, Mayan Ruins, Sian Ka’an Bioshpere Reserve, Lake Bacalar and Chinchorro bank to name a few.
