Quiet and indipendent studio above the small harbour named “Scalo Galera” and next to village center. Not so far even from the Scario stone beach. There is a panoramic roofed terrace in which is set an open-plan kitchen and from there you can have an open sight: on the right an amazing view of Stromboli island and it’s regular eruptions; on the left, looking to the village and it’s baroque church. Next to the studio is also the National Park “Monti delle Felci e dei Porri” (two inactive volcanos) with intresting chances of guided trekking and climbing trips.

Summary: We found the studio tasteful and the open kitchen area and its terrace charming. Valeria's son who greeted us and showed us round speaks very good English and is friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better with a manageable walk down to the port and the beach for swimming and an easy walk up to the charming town square of Malfa . Access to the excellent bus service is easy from the studio. Salina is beautiful and Malfa is very charming. We had a very relaxing holiday. So why deduct a star? This is because the description on the website states that from the studio's kitchen terrace you get the view out to Stromboli on your right and Malfa church on the left. This view is not from the kitchen terrace which has a more limited view, it is from the front terrace which is shared with the owners' house. Doors from the studio bedroom open onto the front terrace but it should be mentioned in the description on the website that the front terrace is shared with the owner's house. For our week Valeria's son Giovanni had family staying with him. The doors from our bedroom to the front terrace were firmly locked and we were not invited to use the front terrace. Perhaps we should have asserted ourselves, mentioned the website description and used it. But we felt uncomfortable about it and so refrained. As the amazing view was the deciding factor in our booking the studio this was disappointing. We respectfully suggest that clarity is needed on the website description. And who ever welcomes guests should show them how to open the double doors from the bedroom and make it clear that they are welcome to use the front terrace.
