Beautiful Spacious 4 Bedroom 12th Century Grade 2 listed thatched cottage in the pretty village of Mowsley, 15 Mins drive from the attractive market town of Market Harborough and well placed to visit many historic sites and attractions within the local surrounding counties.
The House offers many wonderful features including a walled rose garden with covered ancient well. The house sleeps up to 7 adults plus Z bed for toddler and cot. Inside the house, features include flagstone floors, vaulted cellar, beams, Rayburn, roll top bath, wood burning stove and Grand Piano. There are 2 Living Rooms , a Formal Dining Room, Kitchen with table and chairs and a Cellar so lots of space for friends, children and family to spread out and relax.
Enjoy local walks, riding and cycling from your door and for the little ones there is a village play park within 5 mins walk. The house is situated directly opposite a cosy pub. Great range of restaurants in Market Harborough 15mins drive away and local villages.

Master Bedroom 1 - Many period features with King Size hand made oak bed. The en-suite that leads off the bedroom is beautifully decorated and is the larger of the 2 bathrooms in the house. Walk in Shower with 2 Large individual free standing sinks and roll top bath and toilet. Room for Travel cot next to bed.
Bedroom 2. Kings Size Bed with built in wardrobe. Space for a Childs Z Bed or Travel Cot - both available.
Bedroom 3. Cosy Tudor style room with Double bed and built in wardrobe
Bedroom 4. Single bedroom looking over the garden, with dressing table and chair.
For those with any mobility difficulties please note the property has a few smaller steps in the hallway and no downstairs toilet. Stair gate available for you to put up for toddler.
Strictly No Smoking anywhere or use of candles as Thatched Property.
Garden (shared access)
The house has an established wall garden with roses and wisteria blooming at the right time of year. Seating available for 8 with BBQ and Croquet set.
Please note the garden is there for you to enjoy but shared access across the garden is required to our home office/ granny annex (not attached to main house). Entrance into the garden is via the side garden gate. Please note we will not interfere in your privacy unless you would like a chat and often we will not be there at all.
Dogs Considered- Due to the shared garden access we haven't advertised allowing dogs but will consider it on an individual bases for a min fee - so please contact us before booking if you wish to discuss. The house is set up with a enclosed dog area at the entrance to the house and wooden and flag stone floors all downstairs (NO Dogs upstairs due to allergies and sorry no other pet at all consider). Due to the property being part of a shared garden Dogs would need to be supervised.
Parking
Double Gates open up onto the walled garden where there is gravel parking for 3 cars. If further parking is needed you can park outside on the opposite side of the road. Side Gate is main entrance into the house.
Barn Boxing Gym - On site we do have an old barn that has been converted to a non-heated old sch gym inc boxing ring - if you would like to arrange any private PT sessions (no sparring coaching) during your stay please contact us for requirements and rates. Sorry this can not be accessed unless supervised during PT session.
Local Attractions
Despite being in a pretty quite village, the surrounding counties of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland have much to offer all ages and interests, here are just a few.
Within 30mins drive you can reach Richard III Centre, Battle Bosworth fields / Princess Diana's memorial at Althorp Estate, the National Space Station, Foxton Locks for canal boat hire, Husbands Bosworth aerodrome, then slightly further afield is Rutland Water for a range of water activities and bird spotting.
Theatres, Cinemas and retail outlet shopping in Leicester with lots of other activities for teenagers and kids. Kilworth House which is very local has a range of outdoor theatre productions through the year.
Various Golf Clubs and Spa options
For sporting Fans there is the King Power Stadium and Leicester Tigers grounds and Leicester race course.
