Omiš, a historic town on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, lies just twenty-five kilometres from Split and is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and dramatic mountains. Known for its pirate history and medieval fortresses, it also offers stunning beaches and a vibrant water-sports scene, thanks to its position on the River Cetina.
Adventure seekers flock here for canyoning, rafting, canoeing, and zip-lining across the canyon, while the nearby mountains appeal to hikers and paragliders. Families can relax on Velika Plaza’s sandy stretch in the town centre, or visit the nearby pebble beaches of Brzet and Slavinj.
