Summary: This apartment is absolutely gorgeous, all brand new and photos don’t do it justice. Locked gates make you feel secure and the place is simply beautiful. The best bit is the huge sun terrace which makes you feel like you’re in a posh resort, we spent most nights up there. It is literally a 5 minute walk to the Mar Menor beach although we preferred the beach in Pilar de La Horada as the Mar Menor is full of seaweed (huge fertiliser dump still causing problems), so worth having a car to drive out a bit. Jacques is a fantastic host and couldn’t be more welcoming, letting us check in early to help us out. We were in contact throughout and he couldn’t do enough! He even put a folder together of suggested local restaurants and sites to see. Only complaint is the expensive cleaning charge seems a bit steep given that most cleaners in Spain charge a relatively small amount so hoping there might be a refund (vacuumed, surface cleaned etc.) after Jacques sees we kept it generally clean and shouldn’t need a 9 hour deep clean after we’ve left! Top tip: there’s a fresh bread/pastries/eggs etc. lady who drives a van up to the area at about 10.30am, beeps her horn loudly to let you know she is there. She does the best pan au chocolat I’ve had in a long time! Well worth trying.
