The Lantern is a cosy and beautifully presented three-bedroom cottage in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, lovingly looked after by our small family-run team. Set over three floors and full of original charm — including vaulted ceilings and exposed stone — it’s a relaxed and comfortable home-from-home for families, couples or friends.
There’s an open-plan kitchen and dining space with seating for six, a bright and spacious lounge, two bathrooms, and three well-thought-out bedrooms — including a unique ground-floor room full of character. Outside, you’ll find a private front garden and rare off-street parking for two cars. With the village centre just a short walk away, you’re perfectly placed to enjoy the river, local shops, cafés and everything the Cotswolds has to offer.
The Lantern is a cottage that’s full of heart — lovingly run by our family, and carefully restored to give guests a warm, relaxed stay in one of the prettiest spots in the Cotswolds.
Set over three floors and sleeping up to six, it’s the perfect place for families, friends or couples looking for a peaceful escape. We’ve tried to keep as much of the original charm as possible, with exposed stone, a unique vaulted bedroom, and character features throughout — while making sure you have everything you need to feel at home.
Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen and dining space is great for cooking and gathering, with seating for six and all the essentials (including fridge-freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and tea and coffee-making facilities). Just off the hallway is a beautiful bedroom in a former dining room — now a cosy space full of original features.
On the first floor, you’ll find a bright, comfortable living room with seating for six and a Smart TV, perfect for unwinding after a day out. There’s also a peaceful double bedroom and a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Upstairs again, the top floor is home to the spacious king-size en-suite bedroom, tucked up under the eaves.
Outside, there’s a private front garden and off-street parking for two cars — a real bonus in central Bourton. With the village centre just a couple of minutes’ walk away, you’re never far from a riverside stroll, a great pub lunch, or a cosy café.
