In Liguria, set between the sea and beaches of Borgio and the hill dominated by the old Saracen borgo of Verezzi, is Villa Veretium, a modern building surrounded by olive trees and rich Mediterranean flora, with a view stretching from the Riviera delle Palme up to where, every evening at sunset, the island of Gallinara accompanies and salutes the sun. The walls in the warm yellow-ocher hues of the local stone, together with the rich variety of plants that decorate the garden, harmoniously incorporate the modern architecture of the villa and its beautiful infinity pool. Ipe Lapacho, the king of exotic woods, paves the patio, welcoming you with its warmth to the villa, and elegantly furnishes the large terrace which, without interruption, unites the living area with the garden, the swimming pool, the solarium and the large area for apéritifs and outdoor dinners that will make your holiday unforgettable. Not only the space, light, design and comfort of Villa Veretium, but also an opportunity to explore this part of Liguria: from the hinterland with its beautiful old borghi of Verezzi, Finalborgo and Noli, reachable in a few minutes by car, to the east coast with its renowned seaside resorts of Finale Ligure, Varigotti, Spotorno and Bergeggi. A 15-minute stroll along an pleasant path alongside the villa will take you to the old Saracen settlement of Verezzi where every summer, in the high season, is celebrated the Festival Teatrale di Borgio Verezzi, the prestigious summer event which, for lovers of the theatre, completes the artistic and cultural tourist offer of the territory. And finally, a few hundred metres from the villa, in the Grotte di Verezzi, defined “the most colourful tourist caves in Italy", you will discover the wonders of geology and the richness of the subsoil. Bathing establishments, restaurants and shops for basic necessities, in Borgio and Pietra Ligure, are less than a kilometre away.
Interior:
The main door leads to the small entrance on the mezzanine floor, past which, on the right, is the study area. Nine steps lead down to the ground floor with a large open-plan area, with big windows leading out to the main terrace, consisting of a living room, dining table and kitchen. A laundry room and a guest bathroom complete the ground floor. Returning to the entrance on the mezzanine floor, a 9-step stairway leads up to the sleeping area on the first floor with, on the left, two double bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom, and a second bathroom with shower. A French window leads out to a large terrace and another 9-step stairway leads up to the loft floor with the last double bedroom with access to another large terrace. A single room annex, with two joinable single beds and en-suite bathroom with shower, is accessed from the side of the garden opposite the large terrace and swimming pool. Air conditioning in all bedrooms and living rooms.
Park:
Once past the automatic gate, a gently sloping stone-paved drive of about 15 m leads to the property where you can park in front of the patio at the entrance to the villa. Halfway along the drive, another path leads to the garden which extends mainly along the west side of the villa with a panoramic view of the sea of the Riviera delle Palme. Completely fenced, the garden stretches around the large terrace with synthetic grass and a rich variety of plants whose continuous blooms delight the eye with their ever new colours. Completing this true work of art created by nature are the warm amber colours of the low stone walls that delimit and decorate the various external areas. Natural access to the garden takes place from the large 70 sq m terrace of the living area, partially covered by an electronically-controlled awning that protects the outdoor sitting area furnished with sofa, two armchairs and a table. From the centre of the terrace, seven steps lead down to the beautiful infinity pool and solarium beyond which is a large area equipped with a barbecue and a large table that can be shaded thanks to an electronically-controlled awning. From here, a path takes you back to the entrance gate to the property or, going up 8 steps, you can return to the large terrace that continues on the north side of the villa with an area equipped with table and chairs for outdoor meals. In front, a portion of garden with flowerbeds bordered by low stone walls and an area equipped with outdoor shower, stone sink and clothesline precedes the steps leading to the east side of the property with the entrance to the annex.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The infinity pool with waterfall faces west and is reached from the terrace down seven steps. Rectangular, with a surface area of 30 sq m (10 x 3 m) and a maximum depth of 1,40 m, the pool is lined in light-blue PVC and has internal spotlights, salt purification and seven large steps to allow you to gradually immerse yourself in it. Next to the pool and embellished with ornamental plants, the solarium is equipped with sunbeds and tables. A beautiful low stone wall decorates the partition between the pool, the solarium and the large terrace above organised as a living area. At night, the play of lights creates a cheery atmosphere. The pool is available from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October.
