Ski Your First Day: 1-Day Beginner Ski Package from Central Interlaken

Summary: Absalutely love thos place, beautiful scenery and wonderful people. Can not wait to visit again. Always wanted to go skiing and I now have had my dreams come true.

Summary: Our instructor, West, is really patience and took care of us (our group has 8 persons taking the class). It was not easy skiing with the ground condition (still icy on 31 Dec 23) but he tried he best to guide, teach and help us up whenever we fell over. But still a good experience.

Summary: So well organized. From check-in to check-out. The staff were fabulous. Our guide West was a great facilitator through the day. Very attentive, patient and personable. Had a great time as a solo traveller and would recommend this for all levels.

Summary: Michel was truly one of the best instructors at any sport I have tried. His knowledge surpasses his age, and he’s clearly an expert at skiing. He’s a great teacher who is patient, understanding, and willing to adapt, and knows his way around the mountain. He wasn’t afraid to push us if we got better at a skill, and wanted us to be as good at skiing as we could be.

Summary: Great instructor, good course for beginners. I’ve never skied before and learned a lot. Pick up was from Outdoor store in Interlaken, they took us to Bodmi in Grindelwald to ski in the beginner area. Most of the instruction was group based but due to the small group there was opportunities for individual instruction and assistance. Overall a really good experience.

Summary: We had a good time with our ski instructor, Alan. He had the “let you learn from working it out” vibe and is not very interventionist. It works for us as we had a little bit of experience skiing and do prefer to independent. He gave us frank assessments and very useful advice on how to progress. Thanks, Alan! Gear was good too. The ski boots were comfortable. Only thing is there is a limitation of feminine looking gear for plus sizes for the females in our group.

Summary: We got Jan (Yan) as an instructor and he was purely excellent! He was patient with the 5 of us and made sure everyone had their turns and that everyone was okay after each fall. ;) It was my first time to ski and I think I made a bit of progress with Jan’s help! This was one of the highlights of our trip and I would love to do it again! 👌🏻

Summary: We took the full day beginner skiing package in Dec, it's AMAZING! Our instructor, Jan, is very patient and helpful. I end up made a great progress and can manage basic ski techniques and turns with Jan's coaching. He helped us take cinematic videos too! The ski equipment rental flow is efficient. The crew is friendly. I also like the price transparency (available on their website), no surcharge.

Summary: We took the full day beginner skiing package on the first day followed by a half day private lesson on the next. The first full day lesson (in Bodmi, Grindelwald) was alright but the downside was that it was the beginning of the season and there was no lift/magic carpet. So half our efforts were spent climbing the training hill with skis. It would have been nice if this was informed to us before hand. But other than that, it was an amazing experience. The private lesson was a completely amazing experience, and I highly recommend going straight for it if you can accept the extra cost. We asked to change to a different location for the private lesson, and Outdoor accommodated our request. We had an amazing instructor (Krishna) and the location was in Klein Scheidegg which was amazing. Overall, Outdoor Interlaken didn't disappoint. The crew both in Base and Grindelwald are really good and friendly too. Side note: for better choice of equipment, I suggest going to the Base at Interlaken to get geared up. Keep up the good work!

Summary: Wow, what an experience. We did this on 13th April 2022 as a surprise for my boyfriends 30th. Our experience was a little different from what was described as we were the only ones booked on the tour they didn’t pick us up from interlaken we had to make our own way to grindwald to pick up our equipment from the shop there and was met by our instructor. It wasn’t hard to get to but unfortunately we didn’t receive the pick up which was meant to be included in the price so we had to pay more to get the train there. This was explained a few days prior but would have been good if they could have covered the cost given that the transport should have been included. There also wasn’t any snow in Grindwald so we had to go up to Mannichen to ski. I was again informed of this a few days prior but was told that the beginners section there isn’t very big so on the day we could decide to pay an extra 69 CHF each if we wanted to go on the bigger slopes. We thought this was fine as we could decide on the day depending how confident we were etc (as this was our first time). However, when we met our instructor we had to pay The extra 69 CHF per person to use the ski lift up to where we were skiing so this wasn’t an option like it was described on the telephone. As it was a birthday surprise and our first time skiing we were happy to pay to try the experience, and we are so glad that this didn’t put us off. However, for others they might not have had the money or wanted to pay so this should have been explained prior to going as we were in all the skiing gear when we were required to pay it. Charlotte was our instructor and as it was the end of the ski season it was only myself and my boyfriend doing the lesson so we had our own private lesson with her which made the experience even better. She was amazing, she was so knowledgable and was patient with us. She took the time to understand our abilities and individual strengths/weaknesses and would give us both different techniques to try to suit our style which made the experience really comfortable and enjoyable. The veiws on the mountain were incredible! At first I wasn’t sure about it with it being new and a little difficult but by the end of the day we both had such an amazing time that we are already looking forward to either going back and trying skiing elsewhere next time. I couldn’t recommend this experience enough and Charlotte too. If we return we will absolutely book it again.
