Experience the Okavango Delta: Your 2-Night All-Inclusive Mokoro Wild Camping Tour from Maun, North-West District

Summary: Was scouring all over the interweb looking for a 2-3 day budget (yet adventurous) type of safari in the Okavango Delta. Kalahari Breeze Safaris hit the spot! The KBS website was filled with a variety of tours including the 3 day 2 night Wild Okavango Camping Tour, which was exactly what I was looking for. The website also contained lots of helpful information regarding safari and upon emailing KBS, Maria was nice and communicative. Chose the credit card option to pay, which was seamless. Our guide was Master and sure enough was a master of his craft. We literally saw every animal imaginable including 4 of the 5 Big 5 (except the Rhino). Also the never seen so many colorful birds in my life. If you think a Cardinal is pretty, wait till you see a Liliac - Breasted Roller! The campsite was fully equipped with humoungous tents for the safari participators and a friendly support staff led by Jerry, who were on top of their game attending to the needs of us including making amazing food. And there was a lot food! It honestly felt like royalty. One more thing I loved about this safari is that the location of the game drive was in its own concession area meaning there were only a few safari trucks roaming around. It felt like we had hundreds of thousands of acres to ourselves! Truly an unforgettable experience!

Summary: We booked our 3D2N tour with Maria in mid September . Thata was our safari guide ( he is very experienced ) and also sweet Kinsley to support us thruout. The weather was quite hot and dry , so apply sunscreen ,wear long sleeves and best to have a scarf to cover your face . We did twice for Mokoro canoeing , 3 times game drives , and saw a group of wild dogs hunting , leopard , and mother lions with their cutie cubs . And of course plenty of elephants , giraffes , zebras , wild beasts , antelopes…… and many different kinds of birds . We got really close to the wild animals and really happy about that . The tent is located in a safe place , could be hot during the day but nice and cool to sleep in at night . The staffs tried their best to cook delicious food and overall we felt safe and rest well . We even visited a nursery in a village and saw those cuties under 3 in the nice classroom , which made us really happy . Botswana is such friendly and peaceful country and its people , we had wonderful experince here.

Summary: Our group of three had a great experience with Kalahari Breeze Safaris. The staff were very knowledgeable and kind, and the accommodations were extremely comfortable. Really more glamping than camping. The food was very tasty, and we were able to see more than we even hoped. All around, the experience very much exceeded our expectations!

Summary: We did the mokoro and hiking in the moremi game reserve during the morning, after that went on a long game drive to our camping in the bushes. The day after we carry on with a second game drive. All meals included. This is what we did, but now comes the experience. We were accompanied the whole time by a local guide that has an infinite experience on wildlife and game driving. He was able to understand all the hints that lead to the different animals like tracking footprints, understand the meaning of gruntings and handle any situation with wildlife and transmitting a sense of safety that was necessary when facing the strongest animals. He is passionate with his job and the best guide I could imagine. He works with a team of local people that belongs to the Moremi community that are great professionals. The mokoro guys were exceptional, driving us through hippos in a safe way and explaining all things about animals during the hiking. And the staff from the campsite was very nice, they received us with a great smile and help us to feel really comfortable. The chef was able to prepare great meals in a bush camp, making us enjoy as if we were in a restaurant. We saw all expected wildlife in terribly beautiful manners, without any doubt I would recommend to choose activities with Kalahari Breeze.

Summary: I spent 3 days on a camping safari in the Okavango Delta with my family and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the peaceful mokoro ride through the waterways to the thrilling game drives in the national park, every moment felt special. The landscape is stunning and full of life. Our guide, Master, was incredible - deeply knowledgeable, passionate, and extremely skilled at tracking animals and explaining everything we saw. He knows the area inside out, which meant we got to see a wide variety of wildlife and truly understand the ecosystem. The camping setup was beautiful and comfortable, accessible to everyone regardless of experience. The whole staff was lovely, very attentive, kind, and full of small thoughtful touches that made us feel well taken care of. The food was excellent, and the group of fellow travelers made the experience even more enjoyable. If you're considering a safari in Botswana, this is the one. It combines nature, adventure, and genuine hospitality in the best possible way!

Summary: What an incredible experience. Everything about the tour was thoughtfully organised. Our guide Thata set up so many amazing wildlife encounters - even finding a Secretary Bird for us (my hopeful, but somewhat optimistic request!) The camping setup was great: comfortable cot bed, my tent had an en-suite bathroom and even a warm shower. The meals were delicious. I hope to be back and do this again someday.

Summary: What a great experience. Communication was spot on and professional. Maria, the owner, is super pleasant and willing to help in any way. Let's start with the ride. My description might sound negative, but it is not. We found it to be one of the highlights of the trip. Probably 70 miles off grid on rugged bumpy roads. I think people would pay just for the experience. The Delta is an untouched oasis of what life has been like for thousands of years. "Raps" was our guide. Excellent choice. As a poler he is skilled and as a guide he is informative and speaks near perfect English. He has a great personality and sense of humor. Hippos, giraffe, various birds, impala, buffalo...all were present. The Bushwalk brought us within 20 feet of 6 giraffes feeding and a small group of zebra. The campsite epitomized what camping is all about. Tents were set up, liens provided plus some basic essentials. We were greeted warmly and offered a fresh wet towel to freshen. The site was positioned near a large watering hole so plenty of wildlife came into view. Baboons and several listed above were present. Master was our head guide and he is focused on providing you with the best experience seeing the animals. He did not disappoint. Lions, ostrich, Buffalo, wild dogs, hyenas, various birds, plus more. OG was the head chef and delivered great quality food throughout the day. All food is cooked on open flame and he makes the best bread. Cooked in the ground covered in coals this bread was legit. You must add this to your Africa safari plans. We WILL BE BACK!

Summary: We had a wonderful private three-night WildCamping trip with Kalahari Breeze into the Okavango last month. The spot where we camped was in a concession area, and the wildlife was fantastic. Each morning and late afternoon, we went on drives and saw a plethora of general game, along with multiple elephant and buffalo sightings. In just a few days, we also had multiple lion sightings, saw wild dogs, and even witnessed a cheetah stalking and chasing impala. The pre-erected tents and beds were comfortable, and the hot water prepared for the showers on demand was a luxury we did not expect. Our main guide, Master, was friendly and helpful from the start. His knowledge and passion for guiding were evident, as he grew up in the area. We went on mokoro trips, which were a unique experience. Unfortunately, the water levels were lower than usual, so we couldn't go on long trips and had to turn back due to hippo and elephant activity in the main channel. We also went on two bush walks and encountered elephants and even a lion on one of the walks. The food served by the bush chef, Sam, was delicious. We were surprised by what he managed to prepare in his bush kitchen: fresh bread each evening, three-course meals, and brunch after morning activities. We highly recommend this WildCamping trip with Kalahari Breeze. Maria in the office was efficient and effective during all the booking interactions, ensuring everything went as planned and surpassing our expectations. Summary: We had a fantastic safari with Kalahari Breeze and are completely satisfied with our choice. Maria answered even the smallest questions thoroughly and promptly. Master is a very experienced, friendly guide and found all the animals we wanted to see: many lions, wild dogs, a leopard, hippos, elephants and many more. The food at the camp was outstanding. It's fascinating what can be conjured up in the middle of nowhere. There was always more than enough food. We also really liked the camp itself with its private outdoor “bathroom”. itinerary: Day 1: Drive to NG32, Mokoro ride, game drive to the camp; Day 2: morning and evening game drives; Day 3: morning game drive and return to Maun at 2 PM.

Summary: This was the most amazing part of a 12 day camping safari for our family of 6- all over 17 years old. We camped in the bush, with no power or facilities for 2 nights, learning from the locals who guided us through their delta in their mokoro dug out canoes. Their knowledge is outstanding. The wildlife in the delta was in abundance and unspoilt. We went on walking safaris , coming up close and personal with hippos and buffalo, aswell as zebras, wildebeest, impala, crocs, giraffes etc. Being this close to nature was an unforgettable experience. Be sure to have local currency to tip them in.
