Summary: The only negative thing … so much food … so much beer. Perfect way to sample Bamberg’s beer. Do some research first. Locals were so nice and offered great suggestions. Be sure you pace yourself. Beautiful walkable city. One of the best stops and tours on our itinerary. Have fun!

Summary: Bamberg was wonderful. Because there was no strategic importance the Allies did not bomb 💣 much of the city during world war II only the train station and an industrial area in another part of town. The old town with the ancient buildings was not damaged. It is a fun one-day walking tour of a medieval town with cobbled streets that are horrible on your feet, and great food. If you go to Bamberg and you're a beer drinker you have to try the smoke beer. It is definitely smokey and for me a one-time experience that I will not soon forget. The people were welcoming and nice and everyone spoke English.

Summary: My first self guided tour, nice discovery. I love human contact but last week in Nuremberg I've joined a walking tour where two people were smoking around all the time killing the magic. I liked the freedom I had sto start, stop and restart again anytime I wanted. I will try it again tomorrow in Augsburg :)
