Summary:
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our guided kayak adventure. Our guide was knowledgeable and encouraging. He was very calm and laid back (in a good way), not hurrying everyone along. He also took our photo on his phone and sent it to me. There were several different groups that went together -- I think we had 12-14 kayaks total. We went in the evening and got back just in time for sunset. We saw several different types of birds and some nutria that were swimming in the sound. This was not a strenuous paddling trip, as we were not having to fight against strong currents.
We were the last ones to arrive at the meeting location prior to the trip. We were coming from Kitty Hawk and didn't anticipate so much traffic, slower speeds, and a fender-bender that blocked traffic. Check you maps app to make sure you allow plenty of time to get there from your location.

The trip was great. Our guide David was so experienced. He gave an interesting account of the history of the island and lot of other interesting facts. We have done kayaking before but having an experienced guide lead the way made the difference
