From Tbilisi: Book Your Day Trip to Mtskheta, Gori and Uplistsikhe

Discover the rich layers of the Kartli region, where you can explore cultural sites and shifting landscapes that date back to the first half of the III millennium BC and stretch through classical to medieval eras; you’ll walk ground that preserves memories of epochs and follow a historic arterial road that once connected east and west, its rocky trace still showing centuries of wheeled transport. In this Kartli area you’ll encounter places repeatedly altered over time, once home to gods and their earthly embodiments-priests, chiefs, and kings-and witness where sovereign priests performed pagan rituals, offered sacrifice, honored female divinity, and tended holy fire. This layered past makes Kartli ideal for travelers seeking art, culture, guided tours, hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, or family-friendly sightseeing experiences, and the tour continues to reveal more of these historical and cultural highlights as you move through the region.
