"TOP 10 San Miguel de Allende Art Classes" - Tripadvisor Led by one of the "7 Artists from Panama the World Needs to Know" - Culture Trip I studied the "secret" methods of the masters in Florence, Italy at the rigorous and beautiful Angel Art Academy. Art is not my hobby, it’s my vocation! I’ve been painting for over 16 years and have exhibited in Germany, U.A.E, Panamá, Thailand, India, Mexico, Italy, and Belgium. In Italy I took intensive workshops on Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro technique and also completed the ‘Charles Bargue’ drawing course, famous for training Picasso, Van Gogh, & Geromê and many more. We learned how to gain command of shapes, anatomy, proportions - all levels welcome!

Summary:
Leaving this review for my husband who attended 2 sessions with Santiago and thoroughly enjoyed them. He found it welcoming, encouraging and instructive. The setting is beautiful, Santiago is mindful and offers good instruction. The home owner/host is very gracious to open his beautiful place for these sessions.
Overall a lovely, worthwhile experience if you get the chance.

Summary:
I went with my daughter who is a portrait artist. Neither of us has drawn a live model. I had no art experience. Santiago made it an excellent experience for both of us meeting our different individual goals at the same time. I recommend this class for all levels. This was the model Mara's first day - she was so professional, we never would have known. The studio is in a beautiful location.
This was our favorite activity of our week in San Miguel de Allende!

Summary:
Santiago is a natural teacher his demeanor is warm and welcoming. This class is perfect for artists at any level of experience. When I attended there were first timers, intermediate level artists and classically trained professional artists and we all got a lot out of being there. the studio is a cozy space with amazing natural light surrounded by the most spectacular gardens and architecture I've seen in the city. The model was stunning and tremendously talented. All the art supplies were provided and of good quality. after a few hours of drawing with Santiago I left feeling inspired to keep drawing and painting throughout the day. I would Highly recommend this class to anyone coming to San Miguel to do art and meet other artists. I don't think there are a lot of life drawing classes like this in the city so it's a really good opportunity, don't miss out. I am 100% going back. I wish I could leave a six star review!
