Summary: This tour is a must do for those that love history and learning about culture. The drive from Bulawayo is long but the roads are in good condition. Our driver Eugene was an excellent driver. Our guide at the Great Zimbabwe was very knowledgeable and she had great insight as to the people that lived there. Breakfast and lunch was plentiful and good. It’s an entire day so dress comfortably and take snacks for the drive. Bottled water is provided. The ruins are impressive and we took our time exploring and learning from our guide. There is a reproduction of a village selling crafts within the park but we did not go there as we spent most of our time in the ruins. There was no pressure to go but was available if we wanted. There is a small snack shop with bathroom facilities.

Summary: Great Zimbabwe is a must-see when visiting Zimbabwe! I had pick up at my hotel in the morning, and then some 4 hours drive to the site. Late breakfast is included before the guided tour of Great Zimbabwe, that took around 2 hours, covering the 2 large enclosures. There is a small museum at the site too. It might be a good idea to have a hat for the sun, and a rain/wind jacket handy, especially during the rainy season. Good closed walking shoes/trainers are recommended. A local guide explained things as we walked through the enclosues. Lunch was also included after the tour. All in all, it took almost 12 hours from pick up to drop off in Bulawayo.
