Rita has a thorough knowledge of the Douro, its history, the quintas and its vineyards. Each place we visited came alive with its stories, full of passion and detail. We had the privilege of tasting extraordinary wines — authentic jewels that reflect the richness of this land. During the tour, we ate in a traditional kitchen, with dishes cooked in cast iron, and were received with such affection that we felt at home. The Douro Valley is breathtaking, and Rita made sure we had the best day in all our adventure in Portugal. Everything ran smoothly from the boat cruise to the visit to the winery and unforgettable lunch. I learned a lot about wine, port and the region in general. For all we experienced I believe the price is beyond reasonable. There was never an empty wine glass in front of you for long (if at all). All local guides were knowledgeable and so friendly. All exclusive and luxury attendance and places and it was great to see some small family running places. Highly recommend this tour.
