Summary: We enjoyed our ride with Cruz immensely. Neither of us is an experienced rider but the horses were gentle and easy to handle (though my mount, Pompeyo, was occasionally a bit spirited and wanted to pull off to the side to munch some leaves. A nice little challenge for me to steer him back on course!) The scenery was spectacular and Cruz was an excellent guide. You do need at least one Spanish speaker in your group, but the explanations about how to mount and control the horses are very brief and simple. (Mostly Cruz trusts his guess not to be idiots!) The delicious homemade popsicles were a treat, as was the nice cold brew, enjoyed horseback, to celebrate the end of the ride!

Summary: Beautiful, well-trained horses and skilled, amiable guide. Nice ride with beautiful view of the city. It was great to include stops in local village to support economy in a small way. Felt perfectly safe, comfortable & had a great ride.

Summary: My husband and I had THE BEST experience on this tour! It was seriously the best horseback tour I've ever been on. Our guides were fantastic, very considerate and attentive. We rode for about 2.5 hours through villages and beautiful open range countryside all the way to the top of El Cerro de La Bufa for incredible panoramic views looking down over Guanajuato. On the way down we stopped at a small village tienda for drinks and popsicles. Our horses were the most well trained horses I've ever ridden! They listened to every little cue and were totally bombproof on the trail even when we encountered vehicles and loose dogs. You could tell they were loved and very well taken care of. If we return to Guanajuato I would book this tour again!

Summary: We were picked up at our hotel no problem. We had no idea how to ride horses but after a quick lesson we hit the trail and things went pretty smoothly. Once we got comfortable with the horses and out into the mountains it was really nice. Great scenery. Cruz was an excellent guide and helped us get some great pictures. I would highly recommend it.

Summary: Everything went smoothly. Raul, who drove us to the ranch, was right on time. Cruz, our guide for the horses, gave us the instructions and we were off. We enjoyed riding through the small village and the countryside. The views of Guanajuato are spectacular. Cruz has worked the horses himself and they are sure footed and seemed to be healthy. None of us are regular horse riders. So glad we decided to go on this equestrian adventure.

Summary: We booked our horseback riding the day before and the sign up process was easy and accommodating. Raul and Cruz were super genuine and made sure our group had an amazing time. We were picked up from our hotel on time and brought back home in a timely matter after the activity. The trails we took on horse were breathtaking! The horses were well trained and perfect for someone with no prior riding experience. If you are in Guanajuato for a weekend, definitely sign up for this event. Cruz and Raúl were top notch and we would definitely do it again. A+

Summary: Called Raul for availability for myself, son and daughter for same day 3pm tour since we had no plans for day. He was able to get in contact with stables and they said yes!! We were picked up at our hotel on time and taken up to the Hacienda in San Miguel De Cardones. Let me tell you...and i dont frequently write reviews...and I have traveled all over the world....this was by far the most fantastic beautiful tour I have ever been on. It is worth every penny, you get more then what you expect. I have ridden a horse before long ago but with the guide/owner Jose Cruz's tutorial and guidance I felt comfortable right away. He was extremely patient and kind to help my kids learn how to direct their horses. We went on a trail ride for appx 2.5 hrs. More then enough time for you to explore the mountain side. He took us to a vista point where you have the most amazing view of Guanajuato. He took pictures for us on the horses...and gave us time to rest before continuing the journey back. It was a hot day and he stopped for us on way back for refreshment at local shop. Didnt even have to get off the horse. :0) You could not ask for a better guide to accompany you on that trail. He was not only knowledgeable but made sure I felt safe there as a woman traveling alone with teenagers...no concerns whatsoever. The horses are beautiful, healthy and obviously well taken care of. There is not enough space for me to tell you....you HAVE to do this tour. Get out and away from just city stuff and the million museums...get back to fresh air and nature. Its the most amazing therapeutic thing you could do for yourself and family. The bonding experience I got that day with my kids will last them forever. Its all they have talked about since we got back. Let me add on a side note that its rare you meet such a humble hard working person such as Jose Cruz. When my daughter struggled or got scared he jumped right in to help or reassure her. Theres horses in California....but id buy a ticket back to Mexico just to go back there for THIS.
