Book the Natural Bridge Caverns Discovery Cavern Tour from San Antonio (Main - Military Plaza)

Summary: This was such a neat experience! The walking tour was very informative and the scenery so cool! So much to look at with the stalagmites and stalagtites! We are not in the best of shape and was able to tackle the Discovery tour with no problems. If you struggle with inclines, it may not be for you.

Summary: The caverns were amazing. We have been through a few caverns but this one is by far the most beautiful. The only downfall is that if you are not in the best health it can be a tough walk. There are a lot of inclines to walk walk up so be prepared.

Summary: Great tour to do with your family. Very interesting to see all the formations and learn how they’re made. Nature is incredible! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had such a sweet personality. Warning though the last part of tour goes up at a pretty good incline so wearing good shoes is recommended! Would recommend!!

Summary: Definitely a Highlight of our Trip! There is a lot to do at this tourist spot such as climbing walls and zip lines. I would suggest touring the caverns if you do not have claustrophobia or walking issues. It is also very dark so the visually impaired would struggle without assistance. It is not wheel chair accessible. Each group of 50 is taken into the caverns by a tour guide who explains everything quite well. Don’t expect to be cool while in the caverns because the humidity is at 99%.

Summary: It’s just an amazing place to bring your family. I went with my kids and put my baby in a carrier so we can walk inside the cave. It was a wonderful experience. Reminder to wear comfy snug sneakers as some areas are kind of wet but then handrails are available.

Summary: The tour itself lasted about 45 minutes; went as a group of 20 and at each stop was a tour guide who gave a 3-4 minute (informative) speech about that particular area. Not too difficult but due to the wet surface, decline/incline, and steps, I would highly recommend good sole shoes. Stays at a constant 70 degree/humid temps year round. Kids also enjoyed the area of a couple shops and obstacle course (my kids stayed on it for about an hour).

Summary: I give this five stars simply because it was absolutely amazing. But make no mistake, the Discovery Tour is very physically demanding. If you have any mobility impairment or are out of shape, it's going to be a very rough ride. As our tour guide pointed out when we entered, it will take 30-45 minutes for emergency personnel to reach you if you decide in the cave that you can't climb out. Ouch, sounds like she is talking from experience! We were sweating buckets by the time we ended our steep climb up out of the cave. The last 20 minutes are all very steeply uphill. But if you can do that, it's worth it. The caverns are unlike anything I've ever seen. Our kids are 3 and 4 and made the climb easily. Our kids are also well traveled and used to minding and being quiet, but this is a very adult activity and I could see it not being appropriate for other kids. You have to know your own kids and family; but the presentations in each room are very adult driven and use very advanced vocabulary. There are also steep areas with no rails to be mindful of. We got some great photos of our kids dressed as skeletons for Halloween inside the cave, but I don't think we will do this again until they are about 9 or 10. And I would never suggest doing both tours in the same day! I needed a good rest after just one!
