Summary: Garth was a fantastic guide. He not only gave us a fabulous food tour but also gave us snippets of history as well. We had 7 stops and thoroughly enjoyed the unique experience. As a guide Garth catered to our individual preferences and also made sure to learn our names . Do it the first day you are in Beijing so you can go back and revisit some of the places.

Summary: In addition to taking our small group to some wonderful, hidden culinary gems, Garth gave us many thoughtful insights into Chinese history and food culture. And suggestions for other areas of China in our travel itineraries. We truly felt like locals, experiencing hole-in-the-wall neighborhood eateries with a surprising variety of taste and texture sensations. We moved at a brisk pace from one to another and had way more food offered than we could possibly consume. It was so delicious and we wish we could have eaten more just for the pleasure it gave our taste buds. Highly recommended if you can squeeze it into your Beijing travel schedule.

Summary: Jesus provided an amazing dining experience for us. The tour instructions, including the meeting point directions, were clear and easy to follow. The smaller group size allowed us to easily move between locations. The tour route and variety of foods were carefully considered. The pacing between stops was excellent and we never felt rushed or like we were lingering in a location too long. We appreciated that the tour featured local and family-run businesses, too. Jesus provided us with cultural context of the foods we were eating and helped us to gain a better understanding of the food culture in Beijing. Everything we tried was delicious, and I’m still thinking about the oil-splashed noodles. Thank you for such a memorable experience!
