Summary: I highly recommend this experience—it was an awesome time for my family. We felt safe the whole way through, which really mattered since I was with my wife and daughters. The guides were super friendly, and there were kayakers in the water for safety and to take great photos and videos. The rapids were exciting, but there were also calm spots to relax and enjoy the scenery. Afterward, they served a tasty lunch and had showers and changing rooms, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a fun and well-run adventure. We’d definitely do it again!

Summary: We did a two day rafting trip on the Pacuare. Both of us were novice rafters but we were greatly taken care of. Roberto was awesome and was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice way to spend some days with great people.

Summary: My wife and I decided on the spur of the moment to book a rafting tour with Tico’s River Adventure, and it turned out to be an amazing experience from start to finish. The communication with Robert was smooth, and even the hotel pickup service was perfectly organized. We even had time for a quick coffee stop on the way to the river. Throughout the entire tour, we felt completely safe and had an incredible day. One of the highlights was the picnic on a riverbed, where the guides prepared fresh, delicious food for us. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this trip again!

Summary: Avid rafters/kayakers.newly retired, Roberto, owner/guide was beyond our greatest expectations. He & Alfonso made the trip exhilarating, humorous, historically & professionally informative. The 40 years he’s been rafting this river is clear. Not for the faint at heart but a real thrill.

Summary: This was the most exciting thing me and my friends have ever done! Roberto, Isaac the photographer, Aaron, and the driver Luis were such an amazing team! Roberto prepared us and taught us everything we needed to know before we started the trip. His experience made us feel incredibly safe. Summary: Rafting on the lower section of the Rio Pacuare with Tico's River Adventure was the cherry on top of our already amazing Costa Rica vacation. Owner Roberto Sr. was able to arrange a family experience for us with just a 14-hr warning! On the river we felt totally safe under the guidance of his trusted, experienced, and more than witty river guide Chalo (who by the way trained 80% of the other guides in his already long career). Meanwhile, Roberto Jr. took pictures and videos of us from his vantage point in the safety kayak. Having completed the tour, we fully understand why the Rio Pacuare is in everyone's white water rafting top-5. The rapids are exciting, the surrounding mountains are lush green beyond belief, the waterfalls feeding the river are refreshing, and the insects and birds hovering above the river complete the sense of paradise. We highly recommend Roberto and his team for facilitating your Pacuare rafting adventure.

Summary: We loved everything about this exciting rafting trip! Owner, Roberto and his son (Also Roberto) warmly greeted us as we arrived. We packed into the van and headed out on the 45-minute drive to the starting point. On the way, we picked up Captain Chalo, who was an excellent guide. (A Costa Rican champion!) He made sure we had the very best time and shared interesting facts and history about the river. Plus, he's very funny! We always felt safe even on the wildest rapids. A quick stop about half-way for a very nice lunch and swim, and we were off again. Roberto was always around every bend on his kayak to snap fabulous photos & videos that were excellent! This tour was absolutely a highlight of our vacation! Highly recommend!!

Summary: Chalo was a phenomenal guide! He knew the river like the back of his hand and knew the history of the gorges and was expert and professional in his maneuvering the raft, we never felt doubtful in his abilities even when going over class 4 rapids and even a waterfall of 5 ft height.

Summary: We had an amazing day rafting on the Pacuare River. We were warming welcomed by Roberto and his team. Roberto checked where we were heading to after the rafting as he wanted to offer us to leave our car somewhere secure further along the road to save us 45mins of travel time. After reaching the launch site we set off and went through some great rapids with our guide (I’m sorry I forgot his name), but he was very funny and very enthusiastic. He gave clear and good instructions and made sure we were all having fun. He made sure we were safe, but that we were also embracing the rapids and getting the best experience. We all felt so safe. Our guide and the lovely guy on the safety kayak (who is learning the river and seemed to be doing amazingly), made us a delicious lunch on the river bank - it was great! I cannot recommend this company enough for the actual activity, it was 5*. The only downside, was that throughout the river adventure, the safety kayaker was taking pictures and videos of us which we all thought was great, however, at the end of the trip he showed us all of the photos and videos of us which he had taken really well and put a lot of effort into taking - but asked us for $40 per group for… This is certainly something we weren’t expecting, nor something we could afford. This was a real shame and put a bit of a downer on the end of the trip and make us feel a bit ripped off to be honest. At least give a couple of photos included in the trip cost, or, make the trip $90pp instead of $85 to be inclusive of pictures. It just seemed a bit pointless him taking his time and getting good photos when no one paid for them as they all thought it was too expensive, it was a real shame. Anyway, all in all, this was a great introduction to rafting and we will love to return in the future.
