Your Private Elephant Sanctuary Experience in Jaipur, Rajasthan

Summary: Both my husband and I were very happy with the experience that we received during our visit today We looked after Padmore, a female elephant who had been rescued and had been at The sanctuary for 18 months It was wonderful to see how much care she had from her keepers and we felt it was an amazing experience to feed her, painter a little, give her a drink and then wash her. We also took her for a walk towards the village. After the visit, we were taken to the owner’s house where his mother had prepared a lovely meal for us. The children of the family were playing music in another room and singing. We can only say that we highly recommend anybody who comes to Jaipur to take a few hours to get up close and personal with the elephants here It was wonderful

Summary: This was one of the best experiences on my trip to India. Not only was the staff so warm and welcoming, they were kind and had no issue with taking as many pictures as requested or answering the questions asked. We got to meet Padma but were also treated to meeting 4 other elephants as well. It was such an amazing atmosphere and visit. We will definitely be visiting again when we come back to Jaipur

Summary: We visited Elefantastic with our family and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday in Jaipur. You can immediately tell that the elephants here are genuinely well cared for. Their calm behaviour and relaxed body language said it all. They don’t allow rides, which I really respect, as it shows their commitment to the animals’ wellbeing. We fed our elephant, helped wash her and went for a gentle walk together. It was a beautiful experience and something our children will never forget. I’m very glad I read the reviews beforehand. Our driver from Delhi kept suggesting Hathigaon instead (do check their reviews), but we decided on Elefantastic and booked directly with Rahul on the number provided. He was very responsive and gave us all the information clearly. The team here are great people doing wonderful work. I would highly recommend Elefantastic to anyone visiting Jaipur.

Summary: We were picked up on time at our hotel by the driver, in a very comfortable car. We (2 adults, 2 kids aged 6 and 9) spent about 90 minutes at the sanctuary, with an elephant named Padma. We were able to touch, feed, water, paint and wash the elephant, before going on a short walk with her. We were provided with cold drinks and plenty of information about the project and the elephants. The kids were enthralled throughout. We were then taken a short distance by car to the owner’s mother’s house, where we were served a delicious veg thali with plenty of freshly prepared chapati. We were then driven back to our hotel, with views of the amber fort and water palace. The traffic was terrible so leave plenty of time if you have other things planned later in the day!

Summary: A truly magical experience to a place which places the welfare of the animals at the fore, with no riding allowed. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel by Pravin, who is an excellent driver and a lovely man who gave us interesting insights into family life in India. If your hotel is not on the list shown it is worth contacting as they may still be able to arrange. We were honoured to spend time feeding, washing, and walking the beautiful, gentle Padama. The grounds were beautiful. We were kept replenished with water and chai during the experience. I was there with my daughter and 7 year old granddaughter and we were all sad to leave. After, we were taken to have lunch at the home of the owner's mother. She's a lovely welcoming woman and her food is divine. Elefantastic also provides a car service, which we used to travel from Jaipur to Delhi Airport, with a side trip to see the Taj Mahal - it was very reasonably priced and communication with the owner of the company is very good.

Summary: I had a fantastic afternoon with Padma, a 36 year old elephant. I fed her bananas and sugar cane, took her for a walk and then massaged her with a brush and watered her. It was a fantastic interactive experience, rounded off with a lovely lunch at the owner's mother's house

Summary: We had a great time on the Elephant sanctuary, the place is very chill and pleasant, the whole team is super friendly, and it seems like the Elephants are really treated great, not just as a show-off. This was the only place that did t' allow Elephant riding and feels like it's totally committed to the elephants well-being. Lunch at Rahul's home by his mom was also great.

Summary: This was one of the most amazing experiences of our years travelling the world. I have visited other elephant sanctuaries, but none like this. We spent more time interacting with the elephants in 2-3 hours than I have in two days at similar operations. There was no fluff, sitting around in groups "breaking the ice," preaching, and collateral (waste of time) filler activities. It was entirely about meeting the elephants, and in a way that I never thought I would be able to do in my life. The staff was very knowledgeable, always by our side, and able to answer our many questions. We were two groups of two, with two elephants. Both of the elephants we met were relaxed, gentle, and interactive, and also social with one another. The staff also was gentle with the elephants, and primarily used verbal commands. As soon as we arrived, we fed both elephants bananas and sugar cane for about an hour, and talked with the staff. We were able to touch the elephants and get to know them, an they were responsive and pleasant. We then went to a nearby grassy area to bathe the elephants and scrub them with brushes. One of the elephants was very playful, and splashed water all over me and her (with the other one, it was possible to bathe her and stay dry). Water and soda were offered to us several times while there, and after we spent time with the elephants, a driver took us to a home in a nearby village for a home cooked meal. The ride to and from our home stay in Jaipur was well organized, with a large taxi, and great service from Rahul who arrived 30 minutes early. The drive took about 20-30 minutes each way, though the facility is close to Jaipur.

Summary: Started with very comfortable pick up from hotel, then met Padma. Or guide was able to share very detailed and informative information about the elephant. Had painting, feeding and walking experience. Lunch was also wonderful.

Summary: This was a wonderful experience which exceeded expectations. I had my own elephant, 36 year old Padma, who loved bananas and sugar cane. I spend time feeding, painting, walking with Padma and washing her. The staff were so accommidating, taking photos and videos with my camera phone, proving hot and cold drinks. The afternoon was rounded off perfectly with a delicious lunch at the family home.
