This experience offers a guided introduction to Sri Lanka’s gem culture and industry, beginning with a visit to the Ratnapura Gem Market, where guests can observe traditional gem heating techniques, witness both traditional and modern methods of gem cutting and polishing, and explore active gem stalls within the market. The tour continues with a guided visit to the Gem Museum, providing educational insights into gemstones, their history, and grading. Guests will then enjoy lunch at Grand Silver Ray before heading to a designated gem mining site in the Pallamadulla or Kahawatta area, where they will gain an understanding of traditional gem mining practices. The journey concludes with a return to Grand Silver Ray’s Tea Jar Gem Museum and Gem Stall, followed by the Yara Tea Experience and closing remarks with opportunities for guest interaction.
