Experience Small-Group Aurora Viewing in Whitehorse, Yukon

Summary: the experience was great. Kyle was brilliant. on the night we were booked it was very cloudy so he messaged us to see if we wanted to reschedule which we did. he collected us from our BnB and took us to a remote dark sky location about 20 mins drive away. we got to experience about an hour of Aurora before the clouds rolled in. we would recommend the tour with Kyle to everyone. thanks Kyle from Joe and Stacey

Summary: What a privilege to be the only two people to go with Kyle to Fish Lake. His creative use of a jerry can allowed my friend to climb into his truck. We were delighted to first see a moon dog next to the full moon. Soon after, the aurora borealis appeared and we were able to take some amazing photos. Kyle genuinely enjoys meeting people and we had great discussions, and shared websites and book titles. A truly wonderful experience that we will always remember.

Summary: The experience was great, Kyle picked us up at our hotel as we were the only ones going on this particular night. We set up on a frozen lake and had clear reviews of the sky. Kyle set up an insulated tent with snacks and drinks and it was very warm inside. We had a great viewing night as it was clear and we saw many instances of the northern lights. I would highly recommend Kyle.

Summary: Amazing authentic Yukon northern lights tour. Experience on the frozen lake vs the aurora center is serene and beautiful. Guides go the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable and are so kind and thoughtful the entire time. Highlight of the trip.

Summary: Absolutely loved this small group Aurora viewing tour ! Kyle and Erin were fantastic guides, we managed to catch some sightings despite the cloud cover on the night. Erin and Kyle were so welcoming providing a selection of warm drinks and great chats! I would highly recommend if wanting to avoid the crowds and looking for a memorable experience!

Summary: I love being out under the night skies. In February, I had the pleasure of taking a Northern Lights tour with Kyle at North Country Outdoor Adventures. Even though only a light wave of green teased us on the horizon, I had the best time. The few hours on the lake were a highlight of my Yukon visit. Kyle drove us about 40 minutes out of town to Lake Labarge, the lake mentioned in The Cremation of Sam McGee. Then we drove out on the lake. On the ice! You cannot get much more Canadian than that. The skies were clear and full of stars above us. I got out of the truck, and said hi to the Big Dipper hanging right above of me. The northern lights were elusive, but the stars were not. We stood outside, I lay on the ice for a while in my warm winter coat staring up, Kyle cooked up hot chocolate on a tiny stove, we ate popcorn with birch syrup (local, and less sweet than maple), gazed at the stars, and exchanged stories of travel, the Yukon and life in general. I'm so glad I picked a private tour with Kyle versus a big bus tour with a crowd of people. Kyle knew the lake very well. There were few other people around us. Maybe about five people also parked near the lake and walked out on the lake, but the lake was big and they were a distance away. It was so quiet, so beautiful. The Northern Lights may have been absent, but between the stars in the clear sky, driving on the frozen lake, Kyle's travel stories and the calm dark quiet remoteness away from everything, the night was a memorable favourite experience. There were no mosquitoes, that’s a bonus! Kyle also gives ice fishing tours at night. Next time, I'm going ice fishing at night, under the stars. Northern Lights will be a bonus but I know the experience can be amazing without them.
