Our turtle-watching experience invites you to witness one of nature’s most extraordinary rituals, as Loggerhead sea turtles emerge from the ocean and make their ancient journey onto the shore to lay their eggs. After a 15 minuts drive through the quiet island night, you’ll arrive at one of Cape Verde’s most important nesting beaches, the Natural Reserve of Costa Fragata. This is an intimate, small-group experience, designed to respect both the wildlife and the moment. On the beach, accompanied by the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze, our expert local and international guides will introduce you to the fascinating world of sea turtles. You’ll learn about their life cycle, behavior, and the vital conservation efforts protecting them across the islands. Then, under the light of the stars and moon, your guided walk begins. Moving quietly and respectfully, you’ll observe these incredible creatures up close as they nest in their natural habitat.

Summary: Janet, the guide was very friendly and informative. My wife and I enjoyed this trip. The bus was behind schedule picking us up from our hotel. The water and biscuits in the tent was just a bit of fluff to pack out the time I feel but regardless, would recommend.

Summary: I had the most amazing experience turtle watching in Sal with Janet as our guide. She was absolutely fantastic – knowledgeable, passionate, and made the whole evening feel really special. Janet explained everything clearly about the turtles’ nesting process and how we could observe them respectfully without disturbing them. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and you could tell she truly cares about the turtles and their protection. We felt safe, well looked after, and came away with not only unforgettable memories but also a deeper understanding of these incredible creatures. If you’re visiting Sal, I can’t recommend this tour with Janet enough – it was a highlight of our trip!
