Summary: I am so impressed they held my tour, as I was the only person that signed up, due to holiday schedule. It was my only opportunity to taste the local wines and drink, hearing more about the flavors and tastes. The cheese, nuts and crackers were helpful between the tastings. Summary: Had a really great time here on this unexpected and slightly quirky evening tasting. We arrived as a large group and were seated down one side of a long conference style table. Flights of wine were laid out already with little plates of snacks and cheese. Each wine was introduced and explained by our hosts firstly in German for another group then translated into English by our guide. A good range of white to red to cognac that show cased the potential of the wine in this region. The tasting doesn't last long but is fun and would suit you if you are not looking to take things too seriously! A unique experience in the region I think. Also my empty flight probably tells you all you need to know!

Summary: The experience was very good. I could taste and find out about wines which I did not even know existed. One more reason to come back to Uzbekistan.

Summary: This was short but sweet - a quick tour of the museum and then you get down to the tasting. Three wines, four sweet wines, two cognacs and a digestif. Would definitely recommend - it’s a little pricey for Uzbekistan, but we were pleased we did it. Did find it a bit odd that they don’t try to sell you any of the wine at the end.

Summary: We had planned this wine tasting a few days into our trip around Uzbekistan. Trying local wines is becoming something of a passion for us, although still not true connoisseurs! Communication with Qahramon was great. He picked us up and drive us through Samarkand to the Filatov wine factory where we tried three wines, four sweet wines, two cognacs, and a digestif. Uzbek wines are quite different from European ones, so id definitely recommend giving this a try. Throughout we were given tasting notes, and it was a really positive hour.

Summary: Who could imagine Uzbekistan produces so much wine ! Since it is a Muslim country, this was a real surprise. Most of the wines are sweeter than we are used to, due to very hot climate - but well wort trying. The presentation was in English, we learned a lot about the history of wine production and specifics - and tried some of the best cognacs - or brandies as well.

Summary:

This was a great little side excursion to those who like and appreciate wine. You will try 7 different kids of wine, 2 cognacs, and 1 digestif the best of them all, I think. It was something I really enjoyed. Some of the grapes used in the Khorovenko vineyards and Georgian grapes, others come from cuttings of old French grapes while others were Uzbek grapes. But they were all very tasty. Highly recommended as a side trip after seeing the Registan.
