Beach Quarters accommodations feature spacious suites with fully-equipped kitchens and kitchenettes, and dining areas. Suites also feature spacious living rooms with sleeper sofas and all units have floor-to-ceiling windows with private balconies. One-bedroom suites include two queen size beds in the bedroom, and a sleeper sofa in the living room as well to accommodate six – perfect for large families. All rooms and suites include premium TV channels, free Wi Fi and safes. There is nice outdoor pool on the roof with seating overlooking the beach. Beach Quarters is located in the heart of the resort district, at the south end of Virginia Beach’s famous boardwalk – named one of the “Top Ten Boardwalks in America.” Guests are just steps away from free entertainment at 4th Street Stage, and the best dining and shopping along the boardwalk. An easy walk to the heart of VAB - the boardwalk, restaurants, bars, night life, roller coasters and rides, mini golf, arcades, and the ocean front and beaches. Great place for kids and adults. The city of VA Beach pays bands and street acts to perform on every other street corner every night between 15th and 30th Street. Free concerts at the several pavilions up and down the boardwalk. Great place to ride bikes, skateboard, or rollerblade. Parking included. Indoor pool and hot tub. Arcade games, gym, activities. 45 minutes from Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.
We love this resort because it is the perfect location - you are ocean front near the huge jungle gym at the end of the board walk. A stones throw from where the boat tours and deep sea fishing boats go out.

Summary: We booked at Beach Quarters, 1 bedroom Ocean Front for 229 per night, great location, unfortunately the hotel oversold and the property manager called us the day before our arrival and offered a studio in the same hotel or an Oceanfront bedroom with 2 balconies in a different Ocean Front hotel. We definitely wanted a 1 bedroom. He did advise us that Ocean Sands was dated and offered a full refund if we didn't like the 2 options. I should have checked the reviews before agreeing, but at that moment we barely had cell service, yet internet. We went with the different hotel with the 1 bedroom at Ocean Sands. The living suite was ocean front, there was no balcony bedroom ocean front. The bedroom was hot, the bedroom ac did not work. Luckily we brought a fan and put it in front of bedroom door to get some air moving. I can overlook dated, but the floor was more comfortable than the couch., I had to put pillows on the couch in order to sit on it to watch a movie. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. We were on the 2nd floor, the balcony door only locked by a pin., The pool was a covered rooftop bacteria infested 130 degree sauna. The hotel did offer to move us. I checked the reviews after agreeing to this hotel and decided a move wasn't going to be any better. I should have checked the reviews before agreeing to this change. We would have cancelled. Ocean Sands staff was friendly., The room was clean. The location was fantastic. There was a great dining area called Johnny Manana's. Food and staff was great. Would not recommend this hotel unless they did some serious updates. At least get a comfortable sofa and new mattress.
