The famous neighbourhoods of Plaka, Monastiraki and Psiri are also easily accessible either by metro or on foot. In addition, you can catch a bus and explore the beaches of the 60 km Athens riviera or even go further south and visit the impressive cape Sounion where lie the remains of the famous temple of Poseidon, god of the sea. If you have a car the closest parking place is 'Polis Park', which is a 10 minute walk away (15€ per day).
