Summary: Claire & Steve’s Cottage was very COMFORTABLE & CHARMING! Our family visited Nova Scotia for the North American Indigenous games (NAIG 2023) and needed a place central for three families, large enough to accommodate 10 people & close enough to Halifax for the games. It was a beautiful location with many amenities within the home and close by. The space itself was clean, bright, comfortable & eco-conscious. The bedrooms were comfy & spacious, more than enough towels and a washer & dryer to do laundry for a long stay (we stayed 9 nights & 10 days). The outdoor space was equally comfortable. The large deck had a fully working BBQ & a nice patio set to enjoy sitting outside after a long day of activities. The kitchen was also fully equipped & allowed for our family to enjoy dinners together. The location was PERFECT and central to so many MUST-SEE tourist-isty things to do. Peggy’s Cove was a hop, skip & jump away, and local beaches such a Queensland Beach, Bayswater Beach, Mill Coves Beach & Fox Point (literally a 5 min drive); all must see beaches even if you’re not a water person because of the epic views. For the “foodies” in the group, Claire & Steve had many suggestions and the local restaurants were AMAZING! So many options and Trellis Cafe and Tuna Blue were literally 4mins away. The owners of Tuna. Blue “Tim & Christin” greeted everyone through the door & checked in on each table to make sure we were all fine. Also, can’t say enough about the Shore Club. A real lobster fan’s DREAM dinner. Fresh prepared salads of every type, fresh baked buns and desserts and a huge bowl of mussel’s as a starter or steak, and also vegetarian option. Not everyone in our family were lobster lovers, and so non-seafood enthusiasts also had great dinner options. We went on the last day of our trip and we wished we had gone to the Shore Club sooner. Highly recommend Clayton Cottage as Claire & Steve thought of everything and were available for all questions. We also appreciated the emails prior to our stay. We travelled over 20 hours from Ontario for the games and the hosts went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. Such a lovely magical relaxing place. Chi-Miigwetch/Many thanks Claire & Steve.
