Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We selected this hotel because of its location within the old city district and authentic construction. It has exceeded our expectations. The hotel was recently remodeled staying true to its original form, from a 400+ year old "konak". The views from the restaurant are amazing, in full view of the valley. The food was excellent. As per the owner, the breakfast items were sourced from local villages with home made jams, yogurt and "kaymak" to help local businesses/families and also to preserve the local culture. We also had a decent dinner at the hotel. The owners offered a free glass of wine with our dinner which was a nice touch. The hostess Sibel was extremely helpful, not only serving us but also providing information on local sites within walking or driving distance. The location was quite an experience, walking through the cobblestone streets and steps to wonder around and get to main street and main attractions in the old city. Good shopping options and local cafes within walking (after some hike up the hill). Everything we had hoped for and some more.

Negative: Not that we did not like it, but you should anticipate small spaces, lots of steps, tight bathroom/showers due to the original architecture of the house. The location is great, but expect to leave your car away and be ready to hike the steps of the hill to get around the location. It adds to the experience, but not for people who need accessibility and lack mobility.

Summary: Exceeded our expectations of authenticity, food and location. Very friendly staff.
