Summary: We stayed at Minister Loft for three nights in June. Our tastes may be different from most, so though we loved it, be aware that it is up several steep and narrow flights of stairs. This is an attic apartment, with windows that look out to York Minster on one side, and over the old city on the other. The big church is only about a hundred yards away, and so close that it takes three camera frames to catch in in panorama. When the carillon cranks up, it is an event! Ceilings are slanted and low, with wonderful old wood beams protruding; tall people like me need to remain alert. The kitchenette and bathroom are up to date. Minister Loft is delightful if being in a historic space is your cup of tea, and this was the favorite of our places that we stayed while travelling in England and Scotland.
