Summary: “Nonna Murtas” was clean, well decorated and imaginatively furnished and made a very comfortable base for our fortnight in Milis. It is well equipped with plenty of space and furnishings for 5 people. The long thin shape of the house meant that it was relatively dark and cool in the central corridor and bedrooms and there was good air conditioning in the dining/living room and main bedroom. Outside there is a very pleasant yard which is attractively planted and has a table for 4 and comfortable seating for 6. A large umbrella provided shade so we could eat breakfast and dinner outside. At the front of the house is off road parking but access might be slightly difficult with a large car. Monica was a lovely host, she was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived and gave us a welcome pack of Sardinian food and drink. We had one small problem which she dealt with quickly and efficiently. Milis is an attractive village with an excellent butcher and pasta fresca shop and is a nice place to stroll round in the evening. The property has easy access to the main motorway through Sardinia so Sassari, Alghero and Cagliari were all within reasonable driving distance. Access to the coast, Romanesque churches and Nuraghic sites was easy and there were good facilities in Oristano. Many thanks to Monica for making our holiday so enjoyable.
