Positive: We had gone to Maui and had stayed in Papakea resort several times and by far this unit was the cleanest with new appliances and renovated unit. The property is right next to the beach, though the beach may or not be swimmable depending on the tide. Communication was very clear and prompt. Check-in was smooth. The room was clean and more than enough for two people. The bedroom had a king size bed. The bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. The bathroom looked renovated. It was spacious. The shower has two shower heads and the water pressure was strong. The kitchen had all the necessary kitchen utensils. The appliances (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator) were new (they looked new). I liked that it was supplied well with dishwashing liquid, salt, pepper, oil, coffee filters, sugar. Also, they provided a welcome snacks. The living room was spacious and had a comfortable couch as well. The AC worked well. There were fans in both bedroom and the living room. Hanging out at the lanai overlooking the ocean was nice. The property provided beach towels, extra towels, beach chairs (also new), and snorkeling gear (we did not use).
Negative: The only one thing I did not like was that there was instruction to throw all the thrash prior to leaving/checking out. We complied with this but what is the cleaning fees for otherwise?
Summary: Clean and renovated. Highly recommended.
