Positive: AMAZING location in Tagaytay. The unit is located in the Serin East Hotel, which is in the middle of everything. The Ayala Mall is literally 50 feet away, across the street. The outdoor lobby/reception area is a unique experience, as I've never encountered such a setup. BEAUTIFUL sitting area, so well-shaded that you're never beaten down by the sun at any point of the day or evening. A consistent, shaded, breezy, relaxing, scenic experience. The property owner Bea & family is top-notch. In the early part of the stay, there were a few issues (loss of internet for almost an entire day & a badly leaking washing machine). In both instances, the owner saw to it that the issues were thoroughly resolved & never recurred again during the stay. The level of care & accessibility was top-tier, and I appreciate the effort she & her team made to make the stay a great one. Perhaps I'll get to work with her again! The bedroom was spacious, with lots of amenities supplied by the owner for day-to-day living (iron, large clothing cabinet with hangers, nice-sized bed, kitchen utensils, massive water included, etc. Not to mention the MASSIVE, GORGEOUS TV. Easily the centerpiece of the unit!
Negative: Honestly, the unit was much smaller than I'd expected. The square footage listed matched that of a prior unit I stayed in, in Manila. Yet the Manila unit was far larger than this - so not sure the issue there. I appreciate the separate bedroom, which I wanted, but the living area is smaller than my usual preference, with the kitchen & living areas kind of sitting on top of each other. Just an issue of unit size, but no real lack of amenities. Also, I think the unit needs a coffee/magazine table for the living area. There's 2 sofas & just open floor around the TV. I had to use a storage bin from the bedroom as a makeshift coffee table.
