Your final destination will be the French district – home to opera theaters, luxury shops and lively piazzas. We recommend this Walking Tour in adorable Bari Vecchia. A Walking Tour is what I try to do first, wherever we go, to learn about an area, especially from a proud local. Barbara was terrific, perfect English, especially friendly and knowledgeable. She was born and raised in Bari and shared a lot. She knew every Bari resident we stopped to see or passed while walking along, as they were making their famous orecchiette. Barbara recommended, at my request, a local restaurant and found out they were taking their winter break the very next day, so I made sure we were there by 2:15 pm. My husband didn’t see the need, as restaurants abound, but I surely did. ‘Trattoria Donna Carmela’ and, Barbara, that dish you recommended ‘potato/rice/mussels’ delicious! Take the tour. You’ll enjoy it!
