Summary: Mike was our overall tour guide. He picked us up from the Denali depot and drove us to Denali Bluffs Hotel. The following morning he took us to the entrance to Denali National Park where we took our pictures at the entrance sign. We met Patty our park bus driver (She calls her bus "The Patty Wagon"). The Park bus had water, a snack and binoculars we could borrow. We followed the park road far back into the park . Along the way, we saw various wildlife including six bears (three from a distance), a fox, ptarmigan, caribou, and a moose (only his antlers sticking up from the vegetation nevertheless a moose). The highlight was that three bears rambled down the road ahead of the bus for about 20 minutes-that was fantastic and very unusual according to Patty. (The road is unpaved, for most of its distance.) We then went to the Visitor Center where we could talk to park rangers, see a film about the park and its animals and visit a display of lifesize replicas of animals of Alaska. Mike then picked us up from the Park entrance and took us to the 49th State Brewery where we ate a nice meal. He drove us back to the Hotel. The next morning, he picked us up and drove us to the train depot for our return to Anchorage. Thanks, Mike!
