Explore Devils Dyke in Seven Dials, England - Outdoor Nature, Tours & Events

After a quick test ride to make sure you’re comfortable on the bike, you’ll ride or drive (depending on numbers) out to Devils Dyke, a dramatic 100m-deep V-shaped valley and the largest in the UK, then descend toward the historic village of Poynings beneath the 700-ft hilltop known as Dyke Hill. You’ll pause for a short break at the Royal Oak village Pub before continuing through the next village of Fulking to see the never-dry spring at the end of the village street, then climb back up the 700ft hill to check the ancient flint oven and follow the ridge of the South Downs Way with scenic sea views and vistas toward the North Downs. En route you’ll stop to view the remains of the Isolation Hospital once used for smallpox, and the ride finishes back at Devils Dyke Car Park, a perfect spot for a photo, before you drive back or ride down to Brighton. The full loop covers approximately 20–25 kilometres, but the pace and route are tailored to your riding ability and we can adjust the start time where possible to suit your needs, whether you’re booking from Seven Dials, England or nearby.
